New study shows that pangolins, not bats, are likely host that transmitted CV19 to humans

Unread post by Ulysses »

The pangolin, which is prized by some in China both for its scales (used in traditional Chinese medicine) but also for its meat.

The corona virus extracted from pangolins is much more similar to the CV19 that is sweeping humans globally than the coronavirus found in bats. While the bats may have been the original source, the study concludes that the likely intermediate host that actually transferred the virus to man is the pangolin.

Also, referring to the pandemic as the "Bat Flu" is incorrect on several levels: wrong animal, and wrong class of virus.
