Guns, race, religion, terror, wingnut thread

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

"Often Christian". Mr B. said it best.
Your citation of Mr.B's dishonest and unsupported denial of Christian terrorism just makes you look like a fool and a useful idiot for terrorists.

Does "often" have too many syllables for you? My description of Jarrett William Smith was and is accurate, and your whining about premature judgement is nonsensical.

How quick we are to judge!

I have to add stupid to his description. Why in hell would anybody, despite having half a brain, go on social media to announce their dire intentions? It's almost as if they want to get caught.
:confusion-scratchheadblue: He is White, he is male, I posted "(often Christian)", his threat to "burn down the house of a far-left-leaning 'antifa' member" proves he's con, and a terrorist threat is terrorism to me, whether or not "he's only an internet troll caught 'spouting off' online."

What did I rush to unwarranted judgement about?

Few White, male (often Christian) con domestic terrorists have half a brain.

Shit, didn't Himmler say something like that? It sounds like something he'd say. All human scum is expected to leave town tonight. These people are out of control. They talk about secret hearings that are so secret they don't exist, deny obvious verifiable fact, promote feloniously stupid conspiracy theories. Hell, they probably shoplift on a continuous basis. Weird.

Yet another terrorist threat from a Trumpette:
Right-wing pastor says Trump supporters will 'hunt down' Democrats when he leaves office

President Donald Trump's supporters will "hunt down" Democrats and bring "violence to America" once the president leaves office, according to right-wing Christian pastor and conspiracy theorist Rick Wiles.

On his apocalyptic TruNews programme, captured by Right Wing Watch, Mr Wiles said the president's impeachment or "however he leaves" office will inspire "veterans, cowboys, mountain men" and "guys that know how to fight" to bring "violence to America" by hunting down Mr Trump's political enemies.

Co-host Edward Szall said "once the blood starts flowing, it's near impossible to stop"....

Funny that in 3 years our supposed LEO members have never once condemned this criminality.

A man is in custody for an acid attack being investigated as a hate crime, bringing some relief to the south side Milwaukee neighborhood

A 61-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an acid attack on Milwaukee's south side Friday night that police are investigating as a hate crime.

Mahud Villalaz, 42, who is an American citizen, suffered second-degree burns to his face after a man he described as being white and in his 50s or 60s berated him and threw acid at him....

"'You cannot park here. You are doing something illegal,'" Villalaz recalled the man saying.

The comments quickly adopted an anti-immigrant tone.

"'Why did you come here and invade my country?'" Villalaz said the man asked him.

Villalaz ignored the man and moved his truck one block forward. As he returned to the restaurant, the man began accusing him anew of being in the U.S. illegally.

Villalaz, who grew up in Peru and immigrated to the United States as a young man, is a U.S. citizen....
Once IDed this perp will be added to my list of White, male (often Christian) con domestic terrorists, the majority of attackers we've had since at least the 1970s. I've already added anti-Semitic white supremacist Richard Holzer (above).

My guess is that acid man is a convicted felon or is otherwise prohibited from owning firearms. He seems like the sort of wingnut who would always go armed if he could. Besides, who the fuck carries acid around with them? I wonder if Dick Cheney ever considered using acid in his waterboarding policy. I figure he considered it but decided to just drink the acid instead.

I have some sympathy for PTSD, but it does not cause racism and acid attacks.
Mayor says Trump feeds anti-immigrant feelings

Mayor Tom Barrett said Monday he was horrified by the weekend acid attack and blamed it in part on President Donald Trump's attitudes feeding anti-immigrant fervor.

"You don't begin a conversation with a racial slur and end it by throwing acid in someone's face," Barrett said at a brief news conference at City Hall Monday morning. "This is not what happens in a just society."

Barrett said he is concerned that such attitudes are "condoned at the highest levels of government."

"This anger toward people from other countries is being fed by our president and by his followers," Barrett said....

U.S. Rep. Gwen Moore, D-Milwaukee, said she was "horrified to learn about this violent act of hate," sent sympathy to Villalaz and his family and thanked the Milwaukee Police Department for acting quickly.

"No person should feel vulnerable because of their ethnicity or identity," Moore said in a statement. "The bigotry and hatred driving the nationwide rise in hate crimes aims to sow division, but Milwaukee will not stand for it. Instead, we must continue to embrace and love our neighbors. The fabric of our communities is strengthened by our diversity, which makes Milwaukee such a special place to live."

Data collected by the FBI showed a 17% increase in hate crimes across the U.S. in 2017, the third annual increase in a row. Anti-Hispanic incidents increased by 24%, from 344 in 2016 to 427 in 2017, according to the FBI data. Of crimes motivated by hatred over race, ethnicity or ancestry, nearly half involved African Americans, while about 11% were classified as anti-Hispanic bias.
Good, the buck stops on the Oval Office desk.

He's 61, which means he was probably in the USMC in the late 1970s. I had no idea that peacetime barracks life was so rough.

Couldn't he have relisted after 9.11

PTSD is very real. It is s also a very real "catch all" designer defense for pretty much all bad behavior, but especially so with racists.

Could be, but if that were so I THINK his family would have used different phrasing. Here's another article:
https://heavy.com/news/2019/11/clifton-blackwell/
... The Journal Sentinel further reported that Blackwell is a military veteran. His mother Jacqueline told the newspaper that he had been treated previously for PTSD by the Milwaukee Department of Veterans Affairs due to his Marine Corps service. She told the newspaper that she thought the VA was giving him good care.

According to the Associated Press, Blackwell’s brother, Arthur Blackwell of Colorado, said his brother was “not a confrontational person” and had served in the Marines for almost four years....

Idk that he's blaming his PTSD for this premeditated attack and I'm not saying it wasn't a factor, but he's a racist, criminal asshole regardless of the PTSD.

It says he served "almost four years" which leads me to believe he was kicked out or otherwise did not fulfill the term of his enlistment. The USMC is part of the Department of the Navy and they don't have enlistment periods of "almost four years" and never have. It's two, four, or six typically, and unless you're a criminal or mentally unstable or a complete fuckup you don't get kicked out. Besides, the military tries to cull the undesirables out during boot camp, which is a lot less than "almost four years." Something is missing from the narrative here.

I don't know if they still have it, but back in the day there were "early out" programs that got you out I think up to 3 months early. As I recall, it applied to, for example, people whose current assignment was ending, but they didn't have time left on the enlistment to start a new one. Probably other reasons, too.

Ok, I'll play trump: show me the service record. Show me the college or high school transcripts and birth certificate. Nah, I understand what you say and am aware of some folks getting an "early out" sort of thing either due to less demand for their particular rate (job) or because of budget matters or even because some guys maybe saved up their thirty day annual leave to become 120 days before their four year enlistment ended. Somehow I feel this acid man is in another category. I could be wrong and never said I never was. I think acid man is an outcast.
