Tree Hugger Thread

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Or maybe they'll just ignore it, appeal, and trust in trump's EPA to do what Duke considers the right thing. Hard to say
The people are sovereign, but the Duke never loses in the end.

Send Gov. Cooper a quick note below to thank him for requiring Duke Energy to move all of their toxic coal ash into safer storage.
Well, I hope they will be made to clean up the mess they made and not charge their customers for it. I suppose I should also hope for a bird in the hand just as well.
I would question your cynicism, but we're shipping all of the toxic coal ash to TN.

Thank you for taking the time to contact me about national parks. I appreciate hearing from you.

On February 14, 2019, Senator Rob Portman (R-OH) introduced S. 500, the Restore Our Parks Act. If enacted, this legislation would establish the “National Park Service Legacy Restoration Fund,” allocating half of the existing unobligated revenues the government receives from onshore and offshore energy development up to $1.3 billion per year for the next five years. This funding would help address the National Park Service’s $11.6 billion maintenance backlog, including $215 million for projects in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

North Carolina’s natural treasures are some of the most beautiful and diverse of any state in the country, and this legislation would support critical infrastructure as well as visitor services at our national parks. As an avid outdoorsman, I share your interest in protecting natural resources. I joined Senator Portman as an original cosponsor of S. 500 because I believe that we must take appropriate steps to preserve National Parks for future generations to enjoy. Please be assured that if S. 500 or similar legislation comes before the full Senate, I will support it.

Again, thank you for taking the time to contact me. Please do not hesitate to contact me again about other important issues.

Sincerely,

Thom Tillis
U.S. Senator (R-NC)

I saw a tree kill a hawk. The hawk was being chased by a mockingbird, but its death was due to the tree.

It wasn't glasses that he needed. He was doing everything in his power to get away from a pair of mockingbirds. Mom and dad mockingbird were ruthless and much more agile.

We have a rental house near a hospital and a mockingbird that can do a siren.

Skyscrapers topped with trees that are topped with windmills are really rough on birds.

In the future, when America is great again, birds will walk everywhere. Birds that only hop will soon die out in favor of the walkers.
