President* Trump

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Found: "PREPOSPOTUS"

Both a play on 'preposterous' and could also describe 2016: Pre-POSPOTUS.

And Trump says. “I’ve made a tremendous difference in the country. This country’s so much stronger than it was when I took office and you wouldn’t believe it.” :angry-banghead:

Technically, I guess in 2016 he was POSPre-POTUS.

Heh, I figure the boys in the back room are burning up the phone lines to Vietnam trying to conjure up a bunch of lies to try and cover all the other lies. Hopefully, this will open some eyes that have been shut for too long. Maybe the son of a bitch will just slink out of Vietnam and ride back with Kim. Our "president" is truly a foul and despicable bastard.

Regarding Cohen's opening statement, considering what used to pass for terrible career-ending or tainting scandals (Teapot dome, Watergate cover-up, excursion on the "Monkey Business", sneaky arms sales to Iran, etc.), it's a sad state of affairs the US finds itself in when you can read Cohen's statement and then think of Peggy Lee...

Meet Felix Sater, the Russian-born, bar-fighting felon with ties to the mob at the center of Mueller's Russia investigation

So, how come I've barely heard of this outstanding citizen. Another example of the finest people?

Thanks. I've heard of the POSPOTUS/Russian mob/NYC real estate connection before, but like you not this name.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Felix_Sater#Trump_SoHo
"In December 2017, the Trump SoHo was renamed to The Dominick."
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Domin ... with_Trump

That's pretty bad when your name is too disreputable for the Russian mob to associate with.

I learned about Sater a year or two ago when I started reading up on Trump. I think he's described in some detail in "House of Putin, House of Trump"....

... I started reading up on Trump....
Thank you for your service, I hope that you're able to fully recover.

Donald Trump Criticized Obama's Grades. But His Lawyer Threatened Trump's Alma Maters Not to Release His Own Grades

... “When I say con man, I’m talking about a man who declares himself brilliant but directed me to threaten his high school, his colleges, and the College Board to never release his grades or SAT scores,” Cohen said Wednesday. “The irony wasn’t lost on me at the time that Mr. Trump in 2011 had strongly criticized President Obama for not releasing his grades.”

Though it was not as frequent as his repeated questions about Obama’s birth certificate, Trump’s questions about Obama’s college transcripts were a long-running obsession of his before he formally entered politics.

In a 2011 interview with the Associated Press, Trump called Obama a “terrible student” and questioned how he had been admitted to Columbia University and Harvard Law School. “I’m certainly looking into it. Let him show his records,” Trump said.

In October 2012, Trump offered to make a $5 million charitable donation if Obama released his college applications and transcripts, deriding him as the “least transparent president in the history of this country.”

Student records are protected by the 1974 Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, and Obama did not elect to release his college transcripts and applications. But he did graduate magna cum laude from Harvard Law School, where he was the first black president of the Harvard Law Review....

Trump attended Fordham for two years and then transferred to the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, graduating in 1968 with a bachelor’s degree and no apparent honors, according to the 1968 commencement program.

Trump’s desire to conceal his academic records runs counter to his habit of boasting about his intelligence and success as a student.

“I went to the Wharton School of Business. I’m, like, a really smart person,” he said in a July 2015 speech.

“I went to an Ivy League school. I’m very highly educated. I know words, I have the best words,” he said in December that year.

“You know, people don’t understand. I went to an Ivy League college. I was a nice student,” Trump said in 2017. “I did very well. I’m a very intelligent person.”
As always, slavish Trumpettes don't care that he flip-flopped.

POSPOTUS and his Trumpettes screech that everything he said he would do for this country while he was running for President he has done or has at least tried to do. LIE!

Trump-O-Meter
Tracking Trump's Campaign Promises

Here are some from the list. Some others I had doubts about, especially complex taxation, and there are also "Promise Kept", "Compromise" and "In The Works" at the link.

Did not change the name of Mount Denali back to Mount McKinley.
No change in the vaccination schedule for children.
No progress with NK.
Takes more vacations than any predecessor ever.
No replacing the J-1 Visa with an Inner City Resume Bank.
Has not allowed individuals to deduct health care insurance premiums from taxes.
No adoption of the "penny plan", no balancing of the federal budget, and no eliminating the federal debt in 8 years. He's massively increased the deficit.
No use of U.S. steel for infrastructure projects.
No increase in visa fees.
No ban on Muslims entering the U.S.
No price transparency from health care providers.
No withdrawal from Afghanistan.
No commission on radical Islam.
Mexico not paying for wall.
No push from Trump for mandatory minimum sentences for illegal re-entry.
No end to birthright citizenship.
No block grants for Medicaid.
No Imposition of the death penalty for cop killers.
No elimination of Common Core (a GOP program, anyhow).
No appointment of a special prosecutor to investigate Hillary Clinton.
No hiring freeze on federal employees.
No lifetime ban on foreign lobbyists raising money for American elections (he loves the swamp).
No opening up of libel laws (his minions would suffer the most).
Did not renegotiate the Iran deal (he reneged on it, shaming America).
Did not build a safe zone for Syrian refugees.
Did not close parts of the Internet where ISIS is.
Did not bring back waterboarding.
No additional federal investment of $20 billion toward School Choice.

Should be sufficient to shoot down any idiot Trumpette you come across.

I've said it for other administrations, so I might as well say it for Trump, even if he is a total lying scum-bag - I think people should quit referring to anything a candidate says s/he'd like to do or favors as a "promise" - or at least distinguish between a real commitment on which a candidate bases their candidacy and something they say somewhat off the cuff or that's subject to multiple interpretations.

Having said that, Trump has certainly claimed to be able to do a bunch of stuff that anybody could see just nagonnahappen.

What I remember most vividly is him saying how fucked up virtually everything is and that "only I can fix it." That made me go

What could he be hiding?
Comments:
It seems like everything that Trump accuses others of doing, he has actually done himself. If Trump has nothing to hide, why is he trying to hide everything?
It would seem to me that a very stable genius would be proud of his or her grades and willing to share them.
Maybe the Russians can get them for us.
Trump's favorite class was math. He was really good at division.
