Traveling con-man bilks Texas town of its savings to build a wall they don't need...

Unread post by Ulysses » Sat Jan 12, 2019 8:38 pm

This has been making the rounds. Sorry if you already know about it. But it's a 1958 TV Western called "Trackdown" about a Texas Ranger who fights crime.

In this episode, he runs across a town where a traveling con artist manages to scare the inhabitants into paying for a "wall" that he says will protect them from an incoming catastrophe. Sound familiar? I wonder if the young Donald saw this when it came out.

I posted the CBS version of this in the "President Trump" thread.

To get the YouTube version to work, paste the link thus: ,
then delete the portion of the link that's to the left of the = icon: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=
This leaves the remainder of the link, which you then copy & paste between the youtube parenthesis : kGWL1mMJHss
You then will get the video:

By the way Ulysses, the Youtube link you posted is the whole 23 minute episode! Great!

I loved Trackdown as a kid. Evil was always exposed and the good guys always won.

I watched this one a couple years back and remember that they even called Trump out by name. From his draft dodging grandfather being kicked out of his own country, to this kkk piece of shit and on to donnie, all have been hated in everything they have ever done.

Even Woody

"when he penned the song "Old Man Trump."

Guthrie's lyrics went as follows:

"I suppose
Old Man Trump knows
Just how much
Racial Hate
he stirred up
In the bloodpot of human hearts
When he drawed
That color line
Here at his
Eighteen hundred family project."

Hard to imagine a family that has been scum for generations but has done so well.

Grandfather exiled from his own country and we took the shits in.

Racists kkk dad makes millions off of his racism.

All leading up to the biggest scum of all and his whore illegal immigrant wife.

I wonder more and more if she is a putin plant.

I think it was rstrong that said trump's grandfather initially got rich running a whorehouse in Alaska around the turn of the century; the 20th, not the 21st.

That's true. He left Germany to avoid military service and returned after all clear to marry the girl he left behind. Germany kicked out and he came here for the second time.

Well, he evidently didn't die in the trenches of WWI but at least there is a century old tradition in Germany of dumping Trump. I guess that's something.

The Travels and Adventures of Little Baron Trump and His Wonderful Dog Bulgar, which was published in 1890.

Baron Trump’s Marvelous Underground Journey was published in 1893

The Last President came out a few years later.
