The Religion Thread

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Cornelius will be there, at the vanguard of the Area 51 troofers. After an arduous trek, they will penetrate Area 51's core and discover . . .
Spoiler:
Cornelius
I wonder how his significant and calming effect would do with those bees you mentioned. My money is on the bees.

 A good possibility that Cornelius will show us all the way. With regard to the bees, I suspect He would choose not to interfere with the natural order of things. In fact, I strongly suspect Cornelius would evince a serene sort of smile had he seen that guy with the bees chasing him.

Entertaining article here about the Satanic Temple.

https://www.msn.com/en-ca/news/canada/t ... &ocid=iehp

Interesting that religious sects and not-religious sects are so similar...

"The Satanic Temple is not to be confused with the Church of Satan, which was founded in 1966 by a musician from San Francisco named Anton LaVey, who died in 1997.

“The Church of Satan expresses vehement opposition to the campaigns and activities of the Satanic Temple, asserting themselves as the only 'true' arbiters of Satanism,( ) while the Satanic Temple dismisses the Church of Satan as irrelevant and inactive,” the Temple states on its website."

Also interesting that religious and political sects are so similar......witness the cult like behavior of fundamentalist / evangelical "Christians" with regard to their fealty for trump. Very instructive to those who can see.

Christian terrorism:
Funeral service held for 86 Muslims killed by Serbs

... The victims ranged in age from 19 to 61. They were among some 200 Bosnian Muslims and Croats from Prijedor who were massacred in August 1992 on a cliff on Mt. Vlasic known as Koricanske Stijene.

The victims were shot and killed by the edge of the cliff, their bodies falling into the abyss. The Serbs later threw bombs onto the bodies, which made identifying the victims difficult.

The United Nations war crimes tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia sentenced several ex-Bosnian Serb policemen for separating civilians from a convoy of people being deported from Prijedor and killing them....

More than 3,000 Bosnian Muslims and other non-Serbs were killed in Prijedor during the war. Many were taken to prison camps where they were beaten, starved and tortured.

Bosnian Serbs have been accused of carrying out a campaign of ethnic cleansing during the war, expelling non-Serbs from the territories they controlled during the war such as Prijedor....
July is also the 24th anniversary of Europe's worst massacre since WW2, the slaying of more than 8,000 (2 2/3 x 9/11) unarmed Muslims by war criminal Christians at Srebrenica.

I didn’t see the word Christian anywhere in the article.
However, it did mention some commander of a army the UN failed to demilitarize.

BS, fake news. Those people weren't really christians and in no way represent christians.

Or they did it to protect themselves. It was kill or be killed. There was no other choice, the muzzies had to go.

There were some good people on both sides.

That is an excellent observation. The article states that the war crime victims were Muslim, but never once mentions that the Serbians were Christians. Kudos for pointing out the media's pro-Christian bias even when the Christians are genocidal terrorists.

It's true that the Dutch failed, a combo of their own fault and the UN's failing. However, the ultimate responsibility lies with the Christian killers. I'm surprised that someone that claims to be in law enforcement lets murderers off the hook just because society happens to be less than perfect. Seems pretty touchy-feely to me.

The Commander of the army was found guilty - convicted of war crimes. Members of the army were also found guilty.

God did not orchestrate this heinous crime.

I said it before and say it again; EVERYTHING that happens is due to one of two things; 1. god's will, or 2. something else. However, there is quite a bit of what might be called capillary action flowing from 1 to 2 because it affords the actors in any event a semblance of justification, or even duty if the capillary action is strong enough.

Serbs are primarily Eastern Orthodox.

"The Eastern Orthodox Church, officially the Orthodox Catholic Church,[1][2][3][4] is the second-largest Christian church, with approximately 200–260 million baptised members.[5][6][7][8] It operates as a communion of autocephalous churches, each governed by its bishops in local synods,[7] although roughly half of Eastern Orthodox Christians live in Russia. The church has no central doctrinal or governmental authority analogous to the Bishop of Rome, but the Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople is recognised by all as primus inter pares ("first among equals") of the bishops. As one of the oldest surviving religious institutions in the world, the Eastern Orthodox Church has played a prominent role in the history and culture of Eastern and Southeastern Europe, the Caucasus, and the Near East.[9]"

Therefore, they cannot be "real" Christians, any more than Catholics, Mormons, or anybody else not a part of some backwoods protestant congregation.
