Race, lets make this serious! It is nearly 2013.

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Incredible. Not only is the woman hopelessly trapped in a self inflicted victimhood status, check out how white her leg is. Can you imagine how white her ass must be? Hell, I bet it could be used as a lighthouse down on the coastal areas if they got it up high enough.
You would think Vrede would post someone with a better looking behind for you guys to fantasize about.

Most KOA's are franchise or licensees. Good chance the gun-wielding bag was management. Also good chance KOA will show up and pull their sign off the wall. Now every campground has an online presence and gets comments. "Rude management" or even "management threatened me..." might not get much attention absent some pattern, but pictures of one of the managers/employees with a gun will really ding them.

And it might not be the only time the bag was foul...

My brother and I went fishing and within 10 minutes it started raining. I noticed a general store (which had nothing inside and what it did have was over priced) near some water slides and decided to talk to the people and see what the place was all about. I asked them if this was privately owned and they said yes, so I asked about fishing there. They said "only for campers" (they have a campground) so I said "OK, have a good day" and left.

As I went to get my brother and leave a black Dodge Ram pulled up. An old, fat, and mean grey haired white lady slammed it in park and jumped out screaming "this is private property, y'all need to get, I'm calling the police". I told her "ma'am we are leaving, I just spoke to you". She got in my face screaming "I don't care, I'm calling the police". I said "you are a very nice lady, have a good day", my brother said "bless you".

I was getting in my car and she pulled up super close to me while on her phone driving crazy. We left and that was it.

I already got back a form note mentioning that.

A broad definition of "Fire her" is fine with me.

Interesting. Guess that high school aptitude test saying that customer service was a poor fit was correct.

White or Black, I wonder. Blacks might be more likely to self-identify as being Black, but are also more likely to describe a "mean grey haired white lady".

      :---P
She currently does not face any criminal charges.

      However, she could.

"The charges we identified now are two misdemeanor charges because the gun was not fired,” Colom said. “It looks like what the woman did from the video is brandish the gun; so there's a brandishing a gun charge which is a misdemeanor, and potentially there's a simple assault by threat, which is a misdemeanor."
      :---P
The couple stated they didn’t know they were on private property, and the woman’s husband told them they only need reservations for the cabin or RV area.
      Poor guy.

Black hotel employee’s response to woman who calls him the N-word goes viral: 'There's a Best Western next door'

      :---P

The best part is that she had to explain to her family why she had to stay at a different hotel, or they are learning the real reason now. Either they will hate her for being racist or they will hate her for being stupid enough to get caught being racist.

... Victims of these calls must be able to prove the caller had racist intent, and that the caller summoned a police officer to purposefully discriminate or damage a person's reputation.

That's difficult to prove, said Sen. Alan Olsen, a Republican and one of the few critics of the bill. He adds it could discourage people from reporting crime, making "our communities less safe." ...
      :confusion-scratchheadblue:

If it's difficult to prove, then the innocent have nothing to fear.
If it's really a crime, no one will be discouraged.
In reality, only true boneheads will ever be fined "up to $250".

True, but most of the impetus for this resulted from video of the alleged offenses that for the most part seem to convey racial bias, fear, suspicion, subliminal guilt, whatever.......that reasonably meet the criteria of proof. I was just glad to see something like this get some traction and was also amused and not surprised that a GOP wingnut would inject some dumbfuckery into it. I bet that same asshole is in favor of pardons for war criminals; he'd make a good Nazi.

Subject: Re: Feedback - Starkville KOA

Thank you for reaching out regarding the incident that occurred Sunday, May 26th at the KOA franchised campground in Starkville, Mississippi.

The incident involved a campground employee and two persons seeking to access a lake via the campground’s private property. Unfortunately, the campground franchisee’s employee felt it necessary to display a firearm during the interaction with the two individuals and their dog.

Kampgrounds of America does not condone the use of a firearm in any manner on our properties or those owned and operated by our franchisees. KOA also will not tolerate discrimination or incidents of racial bias. The employee involved in this incident, along with her husband who also worked at the campground, have been terminated at the Starkville KOA. The local authorities have also issued a statement surrounding their investigation via a press conference last week.

For the past 57 years, KOA has prided itself on providing quality camping experiences to millions of camping families. Everyone, regardless of all preferences or ethnic backgrounds, are welcomed as our guests. We regret any anxiety or doubt that has been raised by this unfortunate event among our millions of faithful camping guests. We vow to do everything we can to raise awareness among our staff, our franchise owners and their employees regarding the issues raised by Sunday’s experience.

Our KOA owner families are hard-working, caring small business entrepreneurs who pour their lives and their livelihoods into providing quality camping experiences to their guests. That won’t change. We vow to continue to do all we can raise awareness across our system on these vital issues.

      Kind regards,

I'm not surprised KOA took quick and appropriate action. Even though franchised, they're pretty well controlled, with KOA claiming somebody inspects every KOA every year - not all the same guy, I assume. They're often fairly close to highways, and most tend to be best for short stays, but overall they're a reliable place to stay. We've been in a bunch, and I can't think of more than one - maybe two at the most - that we wouldn't go back to.

But back to the story - if anyone thinks that fat lady wasn't racist - we've sometimes stopped at a KOA as a rest area, just ask if it's OK to park in the lot for a half-hour or so, use a picnic table or walk around the park, and we've never been denied or run off - even without the gun.
