Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Opps, I posted this tangent to the wrong thread. Should have used "Election results".

Anti-vaxer or covidiot or just another asshole?

"A now former employee at a Wisconsin medical center "intentionally removed" 57 vials of a coronavirus vaccine from refrigeration, forcing officials to throw out nearly 500 doses, according to an internal investigation."

I like the way they say, "a now former"

I'd say just another gullible fool who has been totally convinced to gush in awe in response to anything trumpy. Tragic. Hilarious. Scary.
He did it the night before too. I wonder what else they'll find. He could have been destroying drugs and vaccines for years.

Probably questionable to fill pharmaceutical positions with Anti-vaxers - ya think?

At least 12 GOP senators to challenge Biden's win

Nearly a quarter of Senate Republicans are officially preparing to challenge President-elect Joe Biden’s Electoral College win on Jan. 6, a stunning development that demonstrates just how far some in the GOP will go to align themselves with President Donald Trump’s flailing claims that the election was stolen from him....

The 11 senators' efforts are separate from Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.), who was the first senator to announce he would join with House Republicans to object to the certification of the election results.

... Many Republican senators have not indicated yet how they will vote....

The faction of GOP lawmakers includes Sens. Marsha Blackburn (Tenn.), Mike Braun (Ind.), Cruz (Texas), Steve Daines (Mont.), Ron Johnson (Wis.), John Kennedy (La.) and James Lankford (Okla.), as well as Sen.-elects Bill Hagerty (Tenn.), Cynthia Lummis (Wyo.), Roger Marshall (Kan.) and Tommy Tuberville (Ala.)....
Tennessee "wins". Congrats, neoplacebo!
 Yeah, I noticed that. But I didn't vote for those gasbags....mostly ignore Alexander (reserving hate for Hagerty because I suspect he's as as bad as Marsha) but used to send Blackburn hate mail pretty steady but conceded she's beyond reach and stopped. I still hate her and she's still out there. I look forward to hating Bill in the new year.
Alabama ties with Mo.

I bet at least 20. McConnell will be all in if he can find the votes.

Correction - Mo is a rep.

Hi Lauren! We have spoken with this customer about this matter and this is currently being investigated by our teams. We remind customers of in-store face covering requirements through in-store signage, regular in-store announcements, and direct conversation with our associates.
Funny im reading comments from @Publix
employees saying you guys don’t care , don’t enforce mask mandate , don’t pay hazard pay , don’t inform employees when they have been in contact with a poz Covid case . #boycottpublix

This is obscene. Unless I hear that the manager has been fired and the customer publicly apologized to, I will cease shopping at all Publix stores.

It is shameful that you are threatening mask wearers with arrest and that your deputy is clueless about how to wear a mask effectively.

Sad - I shopped Publix - where "shopping [was indeed] a pleasure" for many years. Too bad we don't have any Publix here so that I could go somewhere else. One could consider the possibility that this case was an aberration caused by some redneck manager, but as I recall, Publix was less than pro-active from the first of the pandemic. Seemed out of character at the time, but apparently not.

A couple of my son's friends worked there during and after high school.
The store in Navarre is very employee unfriendly. I stopped shopping there 6 or 7 years ago.

That's too bad. But apparently not everyone has the same experience/view.

Publix makes Fortune's 100 Best Companies to Work For list for 23rd straight year; Ranks No. 7 Among Best Big Companies
| 2/18/2020

LAKELAND, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--For the 23rd consecutive year, Publix has been named one of Fortune’s 100 Best Companies to Work For, ranking No. 39. We are one of only 8 companies to have made the list every year since its inception in 1998.

For the 2nd consecutive year, Publix has been recognized as one of Fortune’s Best Big Companies to Work For, ranking No. 7. This list debuted in 2019 and features only companies with more than 100,000 employees.

“I’m proud we continue to be recognized as a great place to work,” said Publix CEO Todd Jones. “These honors show the dedication our associates have to perpetuating the values Mr. George founded Publix on 90 years ago. We know these values are what make our company great and what make Publix the place where shopping is a pleasure.”

To determine the rankings, companies are scored on specific attributes of their workplace. Eighty-five percent of a company’s score is based on a survey sent to a random sample of employees. The survey asks questions related to their workplace, including their experiences of trust and reaching their full potential. The remaining score is based on an assessment of how employees experience the company’s values, whether they are able to contribute new ideas and the effectiveness of their leaders.

 Publix....all those testimonials and accolades sound like the kind of shit Peter Navarro would say about a train wreck or an explosion or a food store that cares only about selling as much food as possible to people before they die.

Well, maybe, but Publix really did used to be a good place to work, at least as grocery stores go. They're not union-friendly, and they did/do have appearance standards not everybody likes, but they were above average wages and benefits, plus the employee ownership plan. If they've gone downhill, it's too bad, but judging from the covid response it looks like they may have.

Wisconsin pharmacist accused of trying to destroy vaccine is 'conspiracy theorist,' authorities say

A pharmacist accused of trying to destroy hundreds of doses of coronavirus vaccine is a conspiracy theorist who believed the medication wasn't safe, Wisconsin authorities alleged Monday.

The man, Steven Brandenburg, 46, was ordered held in lieu of $10,000 bond by Ozaukee County Circuit Court Judge Paul Malloy during a brief appearance....

Brandenburg is an "admitted conspiracy theorist," and he "told investigators that he believed that Covid-19 vaccine was not safe for people and could harm them and change their DNA," Sutherland wrote....

Might be interesting and/or depressing:
Frontline
tonight, 10:00 PM ET on PBS, 1 hr 2020 TV-MA
Season 38 • Episode 23 • United States of Conspiracy • documentary / current affairs

As COVID-19 has spread, so, too, have and conspiracy theories about the virus — amplified by figures like Alex Jones, and proliferating on social media and even at the highest levels of government.

Yet the NG love their little repug liar and gather around close while harboring resentment for having to wear their own emasculated mask.
