Gun Legislation

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

"Yeah, the shooter was hyped up high on marijuana" said nobody ever.
It's been said often, from Reefer Madness to the present, but it's a lie about causation.
It really is time to stop being nice about stupidity.

... If the "opps" defense wasn't so readily available and there was a good chance of criminal/civil liability for "accidental" shooting, do you think it's likely people might check twice that it's not their kid sneaking in late before firing at the "intruder"?
Yeah, I agree, It is as if ANY sort of attempt to address an evident problem is automatically resisted and actively attacked by the "enthusiast" crowd....
'It doesn't bring Adrienne back': Mom of girl killed in accidental shooting urges gun safety

Adrienne Lambert was 14 years old when she died on Dec. 1, 2017.

Lambert was at a friend's house, and a loaded gun was on the kitchen table. Lambert's friend, who was also 14 at the time, thought the gun wasn't loaded and pulled the trigger....

Sargent spoke to ABC13 Eyewitness News for the first time Wednesday about the end of the long legal process that sent her daughter's shooter to juvenile detention.

The teen's father, Charles Roessler, was sentenced to 30 days in jail, while her mother, Kathy Roessler, pleaded guilty to making a firearm accessible to a child. She was sentenced to community service.
19 months to conclude this with juvie, 30 days and community service? Ooooh, big deterrent there.

Pretty stiff sentence, considering they are all white people.

Thousands of guns, grenades mailed to South America are seized in crackdown on Florida ring

"The weapons were originally purchased in Florida by straw buyers at licensed firearm shops or at gun shows with lax criminal background checks"
