US military ordered to host massive immigrant concentration camps

Actual concentration camps are in the process of development at military bases across the southern United States.

This isn’t the first time in US history that such camps are being constructed and used to imprison large numbers of a persecuted minority in a relatively small area with inadequate facilities (the definition of a concentration camp). Previous examples of this are now infamous, such as the so-called Japanese internment camps. We’re now on the brink of adding a new chapter to this dark history....

The military is strictly prohibited from domestic policing, as stated in the constitution, yet military personnel are being drafted into doing just that with this rising domestic enforcement of immigration policy. Just because Trump/Sessions Co. declares a war on immigrants, doesn’t make it an actual war. Being quite clearly an illegal order, the question is who will refuse to aid and abet?

The Trump administration’s reckless leadership is currently putting military personnel in danger of running afoul of the law. While military personnel at all levels have a responsibility to refuse to participate in facilitating these camps, commanders in particular are at a particularly high risk in complying with these orders, due to the precedent of the Nuremberg prosecution of those who aided and abetted Nazi leadership.

Already the construction of one camp has been abandoned due to people’s refusal to look the other way. The proposed use of the Concord Naval Weapons Station experienced significant resistance and outcry from the community and local officials who opposed the plan once it was exposed via a leaked Navy memo. DHS, soon thereafter, announced they would no longer build a concentration camp at this location. To follow that up, on July 10th, the Contra Costa Sheriff ’s Department announced it is cancelling its contract with ICE that facilitated the local county jails holding ICE-detained persons for a lucrative fee. These human rights victories have been happening in other communities as well, including Sacramento County recently.

... Meanwhile more than thirty lawmakers are pushing forward different amendments which would bar National Guard or other reserve components from enforcing immigration laws, and restrict the Pentagon from housing immigrants on military bases. Alabama Rep. Byrne recently stated “Housing anyone in tents on the Gulf Coast during the heat of summer and the heart of hurricane season would be inhumane and a major mistake. I am committed to working with our local officials to fight back against this misguided idea.”

... Courage to Resist believes that all military personnel have a moral and legal obligation to refuse to comply with any order that involves collaboration with these immigrant concentration camps.

Breaking down the stats as the U.S. plans to cut refugee arrivals to 30,000

It is no exaggeration that the future of the United States as a home for refugees is now on the line.

The administration announced on Sep. 17 its intention to drastically reduce the number of refugees allowed to enter the country for resettlement in 2019 to 30,000—a 33 percent drop from last year’s record-low ceiling of 45,000.

The numbers are shocking:

The number of Muslim refugees entering the U.S. has plummeted by nearly 90 percent.

Image

Christian refugees arriving to the U.S. is down over 40 percent.

Since October 2017, 13,960 refugees who identify as Christian have been resettled to the U.S. By comparison, 23,876 people identifying as Christian were admitted during the same period last year.

“The administration’s intention means it has further reduced its promise to protect these vulnerable populations, backpedaling on promises to religious minorities, a commitment to leave no one behind who assisted U.S. troops, and on strategic goals in some of the most volatile regions in the world,” said Nazanin Ash, vice president of policy and advocacy at the International Rescue Committee.

The number of Syrian refugees who have been safely resettled in America has dropped by almost 100 percent.

As of October 2017, only 60 Syrian refugees have been resettled, compared to 6,509 during the same period last year....

The number of refugees from Iraq entering the country has dramatically decreased by 98 percent.

Just 130 Iraqi refugees have been resettled this year, in comparison to 6,740 during the same period last year. As of August 15, just 48 Iraqis—many who assisted U.S. missions in Iraq—were admitted to the U.S. compared to over 3,000 people last year. 100,000 were awaiting admission as of late July.

We broke it, but we refuse to admit that we bought it.

... A record low for refugee arrivals

In all, the U.S. has admitted only 19,899 refugees since October 2017—less than half of the refugee admissions level set at 45,000. The administration’s proposal to cut admissions by another 33 percent next year is a major blow for refugees even as global humanitarian needs grow.

Since the start of the modern refugee resettlement program, the U.S. refugee admissions ceiling has been set based on need, the capacity of the resettlement program, and U.S. strategic interests. No matter who’s been in the White House, Republican or Democrat, the U.S. has long been a beacon of hope for refugees. Until now.

Learn more about how you can stand for refugees.

Judge Permanently Blocks DOJ’s Sanctuary City Cuts

A federal judge on Friday permanently barred the Trump administration from withholding policing grants from California, San Francisco and other so-called sanctuary jurisdictions across the nation.

Following similar rulings by judges in Chicago and Philadelphia, U.S. District Judge William Orrick III held the Justice Department can’t impose immigration-related conditions on policing grants, and he struck down a longstanding immigration law – Section 1373 of Title 8 of the U.S. Code of Laws – as unconstitutional.

Section 1373 requires that local governments not prohibit employees from sharing an individual’s immigration status with federal agents.

“In agreement with every court that has looked at these issues, I find that: the challenged conditions violate the separation of powers; Section 1373 is unconstitutional; the Attorney General exceeds the Spending Power in violation of the United States Constitution by imposing the challenged conditions,” Orrick wrote in a 61-page ruling.

Orrick found a nationwide injunction appropriate because the grant conditions affect all jurisdictions, not just California and San Francisco, which filed separate-but-related lawsuits. However, the judge stayed the nationwide scope of the injunction pending appeal....

What kind of utter creep/s does something like that?
A sad story. A sad potentially fabricated story from another website. Not saying it didn't happen, it very well could have, but no other credible news sources cite this story.

You lie, as usual.
There's no other website. It's original investigative journalism by a staff writer at The New Yorker.
They've posted the forms and:
https://search.yahoo.com/yhs/search?gdp ... 3c7d8be150
Feel free to try and discredit each source individually, along with the many sources that are named in the article. Good luck.

This fiasco is going to turn into Kent State. And that pic of the woman hauling her kids from the tear gas is already showing signs of being as lasting an image as the one with the Vietnamese girl running through the flames.
