The Music Thread

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Fortunately, the color of my hands is not a dead giveaway. I've seen some white men whose hand I wouldn't shake though!

That would end up being the world's most terrible travel blog haha.
http://m.huffpost.com/uk/entry/uk_58946 ... 5b1f5890d1

The deadpan tourist was snapped in front of Bondi Beach and remarked that it was “not at all like on TV”.

He said Melbourne was “just buildings” and the view from Great Ocean Road was “just some stupid rocks”.

Meanwhile he noted that the most famous ship in Queensland “couldn’t even sail” - and looked deeply annoyed about it.

During his trip to the zoo, he added that koalas just “sleep all the time” so there’s no point in displaying them.
George Carlin said “The owners know the truth. It’s called the American dream because you have to be asleep to believe it.”

Someone I once knew, when pressed about why they disliked aquariums, remarked "It's just fucking fish"

... I'd love to visit some of that old shit in Europe.
Plan on Amsterdam late in your trip. Otherwise, you may not go anywhere else. 8-)

But if it's at the end of your trip, you may not ever come home.

So?

More seriously, I spent a summer there, with trips to Sweden, Norway, Denmark, England, and Wales, after quitting a ship's job. Best place to quit ever! Did my share of "coffee shops", raves and concerts, but also explored and loved the history and culture. Then, went back several times for other ships' work in later years. I always thought that it would be an interesting challenge to live there and be productive, but millions of the very industrious Dutch do pull it off. If Holland wasn't so damn flat, I might have given it serious consideration.

I shunned him for years, thinking he was too bubble gum. Then, I really listened and was kinda blown away.

It's not just his music. I'm a fan of Tom Petty for appearing in a post-apocalyptic science fiction movie.... as himself.

Last dance with Mary Jane
One more time to kill the pain
I feel summer creepin' in and I'm
Tired of this town again
Well I don't know what I've been told
You never slow down, you never grow old
I'm tired of screwing up, I'm tired of goin' down
I'm tired of myself, I'm tired of this town
Oh my my, oh hell yes
Honey put on that party dress
Buy me a drink, sing me a song,
Take me as I come 'cause I can't stay long

All of these recently deceased musicians were really angels sent from heaven. They made music for us to soothe our souls. They're all going back to heaven because they know the end is near (as shown by the election of Donald F'n Trump) and Jesus is calling them home.

I guess.

I totally forgot about Venom oh snap.

Funny (sorta) story:

You can sign up for spotify with your FB account. Unbeknownst to me i had accidentally turned on some setting so that whenever you play something with spotify, it will post something on your FB for all your friends to see, letting them know what you're listening to. My FB is pretty tame. Mostly just vacation pics and nature pics and stuff. I've got some co-workers on there and a bunch of others (we're all cool so it's no big deal).

When I first started using spotify I was revisiting all the metal I used to jam to, so spotify was letting everyone know I was listening to stuff like Chopped In Half by Obituary, God is Dead by Carnivore and some others...

Oopsie daisy.
