The car thread ...

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

I really thought about buying the StingRay raffle tix, just so I could brag here if I won, but between taxes, transport, speeding ticket/s, selling it, etc. I decided that winning would be more hassle than it was worth.
I feel the same way about that trump winning he used to talk about before the election......it turned out to be whining instead, and it sure as hell is all hassle and no worth. I expect a significant increase in whining, as well as not winning, over the next year.

Just when you think that 45SHOLE and his Trumpettes can't out-whine themselves, they do.

Pretty stupid, but anyone can make a mistake:

SUV found abandoned on South Carolina beach ahead of Hurricane Dorian

There's at least one YT vid in German, some of the vids clearly show the tag, and I've probably seen this on TV 20 times today. How humiliating. :D

So the guy's wife calls him and says, "Honey you won't believe what I saw on TV - some idiot drove a car that looks like ours out on the sand at the beach. What a doofus! So what are you up to?"

Nope, I don't see that as a "mistake." No excuse at all that I can think of that would make sense for him to be out on that beach.

:D They sure do now. Plus, they still have to pay for the recovery. They should rename the storm Dorian-Jeep.

The owner's "cousin" was driving it.
https://www.wbtv.com/2019/09/05/driver- ... ne-dorian/
“So he got on the beach and started driving it. I guess there’s that runoff (channel) there and he didn’t realize it was in front of him, he was looking out the window when he went off and got stuck, which you can see he actually banged up the bumper a bit,” the owner explained.
That makes a little sense. Better than just driving too far into the ocean on regular beach.
... The Jeep’s owner said his cousin didn’t even tell him what happened, until police showed up at his door.

“He avoided me for a good hour or two because he didn’t know what to say and then police actually came to the house. And they said, ‘Hey we found your Jeep on the beach.’ Then I called him and spoke to him and he told me exactly what happened,” the Jeep’s owner said.

Myrtle Beach should commission a commemorative statue.
