Bracketology: Wofford punches its ticket

Wofford took care if its business in the Southern Conference title game Monday night and officially punched its ticket to March Madness. The Terriers will be a dangerous opening round opponent....
Go "Dangerous" Terriers!

NBC predictions

#1 seeds: Virginia (No. 1 overall), Gonzaga, Kentucky, North Carolina
#2 seed: Duke, in Kentucky's MIDWEST regional

#5 seed: Maryland
#6 seed: Auburn
#7 seed: Wofford Terriers!

Same SOUTH regional:
#8 seed: UCF
#9 seed: Washington
Would play each other in 1st round game, poor O Really. Go Huskies. Winner would then play North Carolina. Sheesh, O Really can't catch a break.

LSU announces indefinite suspension of Will Wade

One day after it was reported by Yahoo Sports that LSU head coach Will Wade was overheard on federal wiretaps discussing a recruiting “offer” with FBI defendant Christian Dawkins, LSU athletic director Joe Alleva announced that the coach has been suspended indefinitely....
The saga continues.
College coaches, others indicted in admissions bribery case

Federal authorities have charged college coaches and others in a sweeping admissions bribery case in federal court.

The racketeering conspiracy charges were unsealed Tuesday against the coaches at schools including Wake Forest University, Georgetown and the University of Southern California.

Authorities say the coaches accepted bribes in exchange for admitting students as athletes, regardless of their ability.

O Really has no conflicts during March Madness. It's UNC and/or whoever he picks in the pool. Otherwise, everybody else is on their own to win or lose as they choose.

Or not.
Introducing Cinderella: Saint Mary’s upsets No. 1 Gonzaga to earn WCC automatic bid

Saint Mary’s had zero AP votes. Still possible for both UNC & Duke to get #1 seeds?

Supposedly several other upsets with some affecting auto-bids from lesser conferences, none really mattering to me.

Zion will be on the court, but will he be wearing Nike?

edit
Yep, but a different style - Nike Kyrie 4s

Looking forward to seeing him play again.

Cool, starts momentarily. Even though it was a fluke, you know that Nike execs will be sweating the entire game.

Coach K, too.
1st half: 9 for 9, 21 points, 9 rebounds. Yeah, he's back. Look out VA and UNC!

Even so, Syracuse is hanging in there. As it was and didn't happen with Zion out, the rest of Duke has to step up.

13 for 13 - never been done before in the ACC tourney - 14 rebounds / 7 offensive, 5 steals, 29 points, would have been even deadlier but was only 2 for 9 in FTs, shoes intact.

Yeah, he's back. Look out VA and UNC!
We'll see, UNC vs. axiomatic Zion this time.

FSU has to play VA, haha.

They did, Barrett had a healthy 23 points.

So far the worse officiated game I've seen since the last time we played the chickens.

It's like a different set of officials depending on who has the ball.

You can still win in a poorly called game. It was good to see some of the more blatant fouls on Harper being called in the 2nd half. Some but not close to all. There were even 2nd half calls against Silva. I had thought he was immune.

Loved LSU rolling the ball in to slow the clock and letting it roll all the way across half court to the 3 point line before Florida jumped on it.

Yeah, I'm passing on that one even though a Kentucky loss is great for everyone else.

Alabama 55
#4 Kentucky 73
Guess it wasn't worth thinking about.

Talking heads say that the #1 seeds will be Gonzaga still, VA still, and 2 of KY, UNC & Duke (only if it beats UNC), other talking heads question Gonzaga getting a #1 seed.
