Never saw him dive, but he was amazing to watch in football.

Cool article either way, but I'm inclined to think that Bo had done some diving prior to that day.

Could be. It's an older article and I couldn't find anyone disputing the story. Could be there was a community pool with a board in his poor black Alabama neighborhood, but doubtful.
Maybe football, baseball, or track had practice at the pool and he did some diving, but wouldn't coaches have probably stopped him due to potential for injury.

Bo was amazing to watch.
