Sorry about the 'Heels, man. Whodathunkit? And where were those guys the rest of the season?
:D It's cool, Temple looked like a good bet after you got me to look, and it was only 1 point in one set.

Gymnast-abusing Michigan St -4.5 Baptist Wake Forest. Splitting my picks. Can they both lose? 3:20p. Since my Fav set is doing better, go Michigan St, ugh.
Michigan St beats the spread by 1.5.

My Fav is still tied for 5th, still 3 points out of the lead. My UD is now tied for worst.

Texas A&M wins, which I couldn't care less about. Oklahoma St beats the spread with 1:04 left, 24-21. Grrr.

My Fav is now tied for 10th out of 18 :( , now 5 points out of the lead. My UD is still tied for worst.

Iowa crushed it! Too bad only 2 of us picked USC.

My Fav is now tied for 9th, still 5 points out of the lead. My UD is still tied for worst.

Crap, not a good day for me, Air Force by 10. I thought a push might be coming towards the end, but it wasn’t to be.

My Fav earned 2 out of 7 possible points on Fri, my UD 4 out of 7.
My Fav is now tied for 11th out of 18 :( , now 6 points out of the lead. My UD is still tied for worst.
22 possible points so far. I have 11 and 8  .

The leader with 17/22 is 7 years old. I'm not sure if he made all the picks or if Dad is just using his name for a secondary set, but I think the former is more likely.

12/28, 13 available points, the most of any day:

Notre Dame -3.5 Iowa St (2 points), Noon ET, split my sets. Since my Fav is doing a little better, go Irish!

Penn St -6.5 Memphis (3 points), Noon. Memphis in both sets. I’d love to see this upset.

Playoff Games (4 points each) - No pussies!

Oklahoma +13 LSU, 4:00p. Oklahoma in both sets.
Ohio St +2 Clemson, 8:00p. Ohio St in both sets.

Nice, a rout.

Penn St -6.5 Memphis (3 points), Noon. Memphis in both sets. I’d love to see this upset.
See? I told you that they should have put 13-1 App St into the Cotton Bowl  . Seriously, Memphis' offense did well in the highest-scoring Cotton Bowl ever, 53-39.
My Fav is now tied for 3rd worst, 7 points out of the lead. My UD is now solo worst. Yikes, guess I should have hedged more games. I'm dying with games I didn't hedge. OK is stinking up the place, too, 7-28 14-42 49 at halftime  .

My Fav is now tied for 2nd worst, 11 points out of the lead. My UD is still solo worst. The OK loss alone doesn't kill my UD/OK Champ set, but sucking so bad up until this point might.

Crap.

Not that I saw any bad calls, but penalties were huge for both teams in the late game, especially favoring Clemson. Sloppy Buckeyes.

I am in solo last and solo 2nd to last :angry-banghead: . I've run my best scenarios. Even with 18 games remaining, including 5 worth 2-points and 3 worth 3-points, I cannot take 1st or 2nd money or even 3rd's get my $10 back with either of my sets. Otoh, I've got a great shot at last's get my $10 back. I may have set some sort of record for sucking.

It's actually 19 games remaining. I wasn't counting the Championship that I'm already skunked in.

Oh well, lotta games that I won't bother with now, including probably the Championship.

I bet kitty was in a real shit during last night's close call. Far as I'm concerned, too bad there had to be a winner.

I'm surprised that LSU is only favored by 5.5.

I would take LSU in a heartbeat.

My money stays with the officials. The same lousy crew that gave lsu 2 touchdowns against Auburn Auburn worked the ohio state clemson game. I wonder if a Big 10 crew would show bias against the sec for the loss last night, or bias against Clemson for winning.

But then, who ever heard of a biased official. That would be almost as far-fetched as 51 senators saying that they can acquit before any evidence is presented.

The media, ohio state fans and their AD seem a tad upset this morning.

I see what you mean.

Ohio State's Ryan Day: 'Range of emotions' on replay calls

Idk, the ruling of 'no catch' seemed consistent with similar plays to me, and this clearly was targeting:

Clemson vs Ohio State Wade EJECTED For Targeting Lawrence

As I posted above, the penalties called against OSU were huge, but I didn't notice any that were egregious. Do you feel differently? There were also some important non-calls, but I don't remember who they favored.

I saw bad calls both ways, but toward the end they seemed to all go Clemson's way. It was a sorry sec crew.

How do you feel about an offensive player lowering his head to draw the penalty?
And then flopping to draw attention?

Could be. I wasn't watching close enough to say. If so, bad refs and Clemson still sucks. I was more frustrated by the stupid OSU penalties that were good calls, like that roughing the kicker.

That's not what happened in the video above, and if that defender didn't lead with the crown of his helmet he wouldn't have been penalized. Are you referring to a different time?

Flopping definitely happens a lot, but putting one's own head in harm's way is pretty contra-instinctual.
There's an ER trick we do to see if someone is faking unconsciousness - take their extended arm, hold the hand straight above their face and let go. It misses the face every time when a person is faking.

Cal Bears beat the Stanford Cardinals for the first time in 10 years.
Now a Bowl vs IL by well more than the 7 they were favored by. Congrats!

Well, I can't say I follow them that closely. Stanford, however, is the traditional opponent for Cal, and around Thanksgiving every year they have a game. Cal lost the match for the last 11 or so years. The winner gets to take a trophy - an axe - and this year the axe finally returned to Berkeley.

The high school in SF I graduated from emulated Stanford, even to the point of calling themselves the Indians (as Stanford used to), and even adopting the "Give them the axe!" cheer. I was always more of a science nerd than a jock and my set looked at these antics with a rather jaundiced collective eye. There was also a bit of class conflict going on - the children of the well-to-do, the snots, mostly went to Stanford. The less fortunate, mostly, the rest, to Cal. Which I suppose is a reason why I find Cal's victory over Stanford to be... noteworthy.
