Just small "hello world" type stuff with Angular-js and Angular. Probably going to be moving into Angular pretty heavy coming soon.

Honestly I really hate build processes with Angular/Typescript -- but that's what all the cool kids are doing.

We're doing the same thing. Angular2 etc. Big learning curve this far.

Still using java for backend services?

Yes

So far so good. There's a big learning curve, but once you get over the initial hurdle things become a bit easier. It seems pretty powerful and makes developing web and mobile apps pretty easy. I like how everything is split up into modules which can be reused by other modules. Typescript is pretty cool too.
