Social Distancing 1A

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Not every team nickname can be as perfect as the Liberty Flames.
Liberty U* is reopening, probably in support of 45SHOLE. May the Flames of god's CV-19 consume them.
In coronavirus pandemic, Trump allies say they're ready to die for the economy

I support these efforts to depopulate red states and the GOP.

Donald Trump's latest tweets!
The LameStream Media is the dominant force in trying to get me to keep our Country closed as long as possible in the hope that it will be detrimental to my election success. The real people want to get back to work ASAP. We will be stronger than ever before!

Went to geezer time at Albertson's today. Not crowded, mostly geezers there, who mostly did their part to keep distance. Shelves missing some things in some departments, but I got everything I went after. Still not much paper products and interestingly, the pasta area was ravaged. Lot of pasta getting eaten I guess - maybe by people who don't normally cook much at home. Meats and most fresh veggies were in good supply.

Long ago when the original "Candid Camera" was on, there was a hilarious segment where they "closed Delaware for repairs" and were stopping people at the border. Couldn't find that one, but here's the same stunt, closing Texas.

Not so funny anymore, now that they closed India.

Let's close America to Mississippians. How fast can we build a wall to protect responsible and decent folks?

We could still do it.
Why can't we sell it to China?

We might have to pay China to take it off our hands, totally worth it.

I'm taking a stroll downtown.

I already had to taze two people with the cattle prod because they weren't respecting the six foot social distancing.

Had to hit this other dude with the mace.

A lot about how to adapt to remote work is dependent on the type of work done. In particular, whether it's self-directed or externally-directed. Is it up to you to call people, or do you respond to incoming calls? Are all records and work necessities online, or do you have to deal with paper? Do you need or have access to admin support that's still back at the office? Are your calls one-to-one or conference? Will any be video? Do you need to run group conferencing screen-sharing programs like "GoToMeeting"?

My firm started to work toward "paperless" office back when having Blackberries was cutting edge. Along the way, a lot changed. Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw changed how (and where) research is done; courts started taking, and then requiring, electronic filing; more work started being done via teleconference; even senior partners in stodgy old firms got computers on their desks. It became apparent to our firm that not everyone needed all the same resources - conference rooms, offices for visitors, etc. The litigators got the most out of the office - the consulting group not so much. So I was fortunate to be one of the early adopters of the remote work style. All the offices in each state designated some "shared" offices that were in all aspects the same as the private offices. When you needed to be in a real office for whatever reason, you used a shared office. Sign in to the computer (or bring your laptop) and there's your personal screen, conference rooms available, legal assistants around, etc. Otherwise, your office is wherever you, your mobile and your laptop are. It did take a little getting used to, but before long it was just a way of life and I spent over 10 years as a digital nomad. Having said all that, however, that life isn't for everybody and I wouldn't want to get thrown into "work from home" with no preparation or support.

Those are all great suggestions, but what should retired people do? Are there guidelines for how to dress and behave when retired from home?

Conveniently, they are to ignore all 6 and do the opposite because who gives a fuck. This may differ with married retirees ;) . Hell, with social distancing and drive up service for everything, one doesn't really have to get very dressed even when going out :o .
