Taking politics out of it, and looking at it totally from a management standpoint, does Trump make horrible hiring decisions, or are they horrible people that competent vetting could not tell, or are they put into situations guaranteeing failure? Could be any one or all of those, but there are no other viable causes. Without doubt, though, fault goes to the top, particularly since Trump takes a personal hand in what these people do....

Add in the fact that the pool of quality people willing to abase themselves by working for POSPOTUS is vastly reduced, more so than for just about any other Repug. So, the standard for "competent vetting" necessarily has to be lowered.

I agree; always thought he was a straight up guy for a GOPer; smart, experienced, not crazy. Not sure if he's damaged goods for being part of the trump empire.....that does leave a stink. Anyway, this is the story about the State Dept guy who quit.
