Maybe I have depending on the meaning of your metaphor. I got bored with 1 FAT CAN long ago, and have no interest in being tempted to respond to most of her/his posts - that's not hiding, sorry. I see what gets quoted by mostly neoplacebo - most others also have 1 FAT CAN on ignore - and nothing else.

It's not about being pissed. I don't think my use of ignore is seen as punishment by 1 FAT CAN. Rather, it's purely about my own time management. Why read and respond to the inane and pointless?

"Ignore" is a great filter to keep unwanted and usually stupid drivel off your screen and thus out of your life. No difference really than not watching a given TV show or film. IMNVHO, the more "information" we have constantly thrown at us, the greater the need for good filters.

I don't have anyone on "ignore" because, personally, I have to actually see or be aware of something in order to make a decision to ignore it. Historical or predictive rationale can be a valid reason for someone to universally ignore someone but I feel that since even a blind pig finds a nut now and again, it's possible that even hopeless cult members or rabid moronists might actually come to sort of an epiphany and thus realize they've been suckered into something in spite of their being suckerists in the past. A practical example of this is if you're walking down the sidewalk and see a steaming pile of dog shit there in your way, you have to actually see it to ignore it. Otherwise, you're more likely to step in it and be forced to confront it. Better to be aware of it and preemptively ignore it than being forced to deal with it, which precludes the option of ignoring it. As for love or hate, I've said more than once that, for me, those feelings are not automatic; either has to be earned. For example, I hate trump; for me, he's earned my hate. I don't hate religion; I just ignore it, but I'm aware of it and its many stripes. I have nothing against those who profess a particular faith, but if you profess that faith and violate it and shit on it, you will rouse my hate.....not hate of religion, but hate of hypocrites who lie and say they are people of faith while at the same time demonstrating their self evident violation of the more basic tenets of that faith. And I think the cat fan is, in actuality, Mr. B resurrected, as it were.

Cat Fan is not Mr.B, resurrected or otherwise but I can't prove it to you. I follow him on Facebook, although I am strictly an observer; not a poster or a "Liker". He and I have exchanged personal messages on messenger, but it's been months since. He's not interested in BRD in the same manner that BRD is not interested in him, although it is amusing though how he's still camped out in a few heads here!

But Mr.B was an entertaining and contributing member for quite a while before, for some reason, he went over the edge. From what I recall from his posts, he did seem to be a pretty decent old chap at one time, rather overly religious. People can snap rather easily though, especially when it comes to what is most precious to them; and will do or say things without giving much thought to the repercussions. In following his posts on Facebook, I have seen a change in his attitudes and mannerisms, that's why I don't comment on any of his posts. He has become more people oriented than politically motivated; he gives hell to those who character shames Democrats OR Republicans. He's made it clear he ain't no Trumper, and that pisses off a lot of his FB friends! He's fun to read.
