Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

guess it was too much for you to handle little one, but I've spelled "plain" as in plain and stupid or plain and simple with miss sarah's spellin for the past 4.5 years

it adds a certain something to an otherwise plain word, palin and simple

Google or Yahoo or Bing or DogPile "what happened to Iraq's chemical weapons." You'll find your answer.

Why? You didn't get it the first several times, why should anyone answer again.

Why don't you show some personal responsibility, and go back and read the thread again?

Clue: The use against Iraqi civilians was in 1991.

There are a lot former NFL players that don't remember many things.

He dumped a lot of it on the Kurds in 88; if I remember correctly, he got about 5,000 victims in just one attack; I remember seeing a photo of the body of a small child that looked to be about 3 or 4 years old lying dead in the street among its parents and others. The rest of it(chemical weapons and / WMD) was smoke and mirrors invented by Dick Cheney and his band of merry fools.

it was retaliation for an assassination attempt- wiped out a whole town. what an asshole he was

on the other hand, lil bush murdered over a hundred thousand over what some say was retaliation over an assassination attempt against his daddy, but most believe it was strictly for oil and war profits. what an asshole he is

He negotiated a peace agreement with the Kurds, and convinced them that they could come down out of the hills and return to their homes without fear. THEN he gassed them.

BTW, if someone were to name the top man-made environmental disasters ever at the time, they were all Saddam's work: The draining of the Tigris and Euphrates salt marsh ecoregion. (As an act of genocide against the Shi'a living there, yet.) The dynamiting of 700 oil wells. And the deliberate dumping of 1,500,000 tons of oil into the Gulf. (For comparison, Exxon Valdez spilled 35,000 tons.)

It still surprises me that Greenpeace and PETA didn't lead the calls for an invasion.

My figures are from an old news story; the link is long dead.

Looking at current Wikipedia information: Apparantly Exxon Valdez spilled 42,000 to 120,000 m3. I figure the high end figure (from environmentalists) for the Exxon Valdez is about as believeable as the revised high end figure (from the government) for the Gulf War spill. The same goes with the low end figures, source reversed.

So the Gulf War spill did NOT spill 43 times as much as Exxon Valdez, but it still spilled several times as much.

My point still stands, that at the time the top three man-made environmental disasters were deliberate actions by Saddam. Cheney & Bush II should have looked like peacenik stoners compared to PETA. Greenpeace should have been using French nuke tests to fabricate Iraqi WMD evidence.

It's also been claimed that US backing was stopping Saddam from using chemical weapons against Iran or the Kurds. Anything so politically unacceptable would get that support cut off.

But then - thanks to Ronnie's Iran-Contra deal - new US weaponry started showing up on the Iranian front lines....

1980-88. Chemical weapons are used extensively during Iran-Iraq war. Most are used by Iraq. Saddam is also believed to have used them against his own people, primarily Kurdish and Shiia minorities. First use during the war is by Iraq. By 1985 Iraq is producing 1,000 tons of various chemical weapons agents annually.
During the war, Saddam appoints his cousin, Ali Hasan al-Majid, as his deputy in the north. In 1987-88, al-Majid led the "Anfal" campaign of attacks on Kurdish villages. All villages within 20 kilometers of the Iranian border are ruthlessly destroyed, and many are attacked with chemical weapons. Amnesty International estimates that more than 100,000 Kurds were killed or “disappeared” during this period.

During the first half of the war the United States provides Iraq with limited military assistance in the form of satelite imagry of Iranian military dispostions and troop concentrations. Assistance is ended when their use of chemical weapons is confirmed.

First name Dingle, note the dates above. You also Vred. Mid 80's, 1985 there about. Your reference with photo was prior.

No, I just think you're a drooling idiot.

On chem and FSM subjects, I can quote news sources and those who ARE experts, as well as anyone.

Logical progression: Go back to the last time he had them.

I mentioned the latest and last use against Iraqi civilians because that would be the last date Saddam used them. Whatever happened to them would had to have happened after that date.

All the BS you mentioned was completely irrelevant because the only date that matters would be the last date that we know he had them.
