... Dwight Powers, police said, was on a Zoom video chat with about 20 people when he was stabbed by his son, Thomas Scully-Powers, just after 12 p.m. Thursday in Long Island, New York.

Several people in the chat called 911 following the attack.

Scully-Powers, 32, fled and was apprehended at Ketcham Avenue and Cedar Street at 12:57 p.m., authorities said.

He was charged with 2nd-degree murder and was transported to a local hospital for minor injuries he sustained while jumping out of a window, police said.

Those on the video chat noticed Dwight Powers fall and then saw another person on the screen, police said, according to ABC New York station WABC.

"Bedsheets were being ripped off the bed by a gentleman who appeared to be naked as well as bald and he had a tattoo on his left arm, and then he placed the bedsheets on the floor as if he was covering something up," said a witness to the incident who did not want to be identified, WABC reported....

Woman accused of trying to use 'rent a hitman' website to have her ex-husband killed for $5,000



A Michigan woman is behind bars after trying to hire an assassin from "rentahitman.com," which turned out to be a fake website.

Wendy Wein was arrested Friday after she visited the joke website and filled out a "Rent-A-Hitman Service Request Form" to request a consultation, according to police reports.

The website's owner, Bob Innes, reported the woman's request to the police.

According to the Monroe News, an undercover state trooper posing as an assassin arranged a meeting with Ms Wein to discuss her proposal. At the meeting, Ms Wein offered the trooper $5,000 to kill her ex-husband. She was then taken into custody.

Ms Wein was charged with solicitation to commit murder and illegal use of a computer to facilitate a crime. She's currently being held on a $500,000 bond....

The site's actual owner, Mr Innes, claims his site is responsible for alerting law enforcement to at least 130 potential murders....

The website isn't subtle in its humour, though it's on-the-nose absurdism was apparently lost on Ms Wein.

"I can't believe someone would thank that a website like this exists," Michigan State Police Lieutenant Brian Oleksyk said.

In an exclusive Independent interview 32 year old Wendy Wein whined that her ex-husband called her "ugly and stupid".

About a month ago I saw a Jimmy Kimmel video where he was wearing a mask that had a graphic of part of his nose and his mouth and chin on the front of it.....the effect was that it looked like he wasn't even wearing a mask. At the time, I said "man, I gotta get me a mask like that" but I've not seen any that are available. Just my luck.
