What they did not mention is what happens when a hacker manages to get access to the truck brain and then takes over, making a high speed maximum whine run into a playground full of kindergarten kids. Yeah, I don't think Jeep is going to be using that in any of their ads.

I've never owned or even driven a four wheel drive vehicle, but the situation shown doesn't appear to me to be too difficult to get out of; the rear wheels are less than a foot lower than the front ones and the vehicle does not appear to be bottomed out anywhere. The driver should have just kept straddling the existing groove in the road. He obviously lost his groove here.

Funny, I'm seeing someone who got smart after being so stupid.
Jeeps have a high center of gravity. Look how steep that slope is. That thing is not being driven off of there by a sane person.

Maybe they're still in there figuring out what to do and until they run out of beer no decision is imminent. The good thing is they don't have to worry about being pulled over by the cops. If it were me, I'd try to back up and keep backing up.

Dismantle it and pack it out by mule, or use a helicopter. Bill the idiot owner either way, then seize the Jeep and driver's license.neoplacebo wrote: ↑Wed Sep 23, 2020 8:30 pmMaybe they're still in there figuring out what to do and until they run out of beer no decision is imminent. I appreciate the spontaneous and successful gearhead volunteerism, but the result is also stupidity without consequences. I suspect we’ll never see a public mea culpa from the driver.O Really wrote: ↑Fri Sep 25, 2020 12:16 amThey got it down. Safely, and without helicopter. SoCal off-roading club. Unbelievable.

Vintage Lincoln cars that were used by president Kennedy to be sold at auction. Damn. I can remember one of my friend's grandmother had one of these Lincolns with the suicide doors; it was a black hardtop. Even as a kid I just knew that sort of car was what was needed and what I wanted.
