I just remembered about our putin/trump translator who wasn't allowed to divulge what trump told putin because trump said so.

I wonder if she can now talk because Joe says so.
I would imagine that person has a lot more money than they did before that event. Maybe enough to weigh down the biggest of lips.

What do you think is the timing over/under on some sort of criminal indictment on Cheetohead?

I'm thinking July.
If you mean among all jurisdictions, I'm hoping for Jan 21.
Too good to be true.....but I'll bite. Who and where?
SDNY seems to have been working on it longest and hardest, but Barr did what obstructing he could. So could be the NY AG or the DA of Manhattan. In short, I have no idea.
As I listed. Then there are all of the civil suits.
Attorney Roberta Kaplan is about to make Trump’s life extremely difficult
On the other side of Donald Trump’s turbulent presidency, the lawyers are waiting.

Leaving aside his Senate impeachment trial, mounting government investigations include a civil probe by New York Attorney General Letitia James, a criminal probe by Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr., and a federal probe by acting U.S. Attorney for D.C. Michael Sherwin that may include Trump’s role in the catastrophic storming of the U.S. Capitol this month.

But already pending for the soon-to-be South Florida retiree is a trio of lawsuits that allege defamation, fraud and more fraud — all of which are helmed by one attorney.

Roberta Kaplan’s clients include writer E. Jean Carroll, who filed a defamation case after Trump claimed she was “totally lying” about her allegation that he raped her a quarter-century ago in a Bergdorf Goodman dressing room, and niece Mary L. Trump, who claims that Trump and two of his siblings deprived her of an inheritance worth millions.

“I became the go-to person to sue the president,” says Kaplan, 54, with considerable relish.

She is in many ways the ideal legal adversary to take on Trump. Kaplan is a brash and original strategist, with neither a gift for patience nor silence, a crusader for underdogs who has won almost every legal accolade imaginable. Kaplan, says New York Democratic Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo in an email, “has been indispensable in the fight against the cancer of hate and division that Trump spent four years exacerbating.” ...
45SHOLE will spend the rest of his miserable life in court, and his heirs will be there for years, too.

3 new Democratic senators to be sworn in, which will flip control of the Senate

Image

Vice President-elect Kamala Harris is expected to swear in three new, barrier-breaking Democratic senators on Wednesday afternoon after her own inauguration, officially giving Democrats control of the Senate for the first time since they lost the chamber in the 2014 elections.

Earlier this month, Georgia elected two Democrats -- the Rev. Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff -- to the US Senate, flipping the chamber. Warnock, the senior pastor of Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, and Ossoff will be joined on Wednesday by Harris' successor, Alex Padilla, the former California secretary of state appointed to the Senate by Gov. Gavin Newsom.

The swearing-in of the three new senators will be groundbreaking. Warnock and Ossoff will be the first Black and first Jewish senators, respectively, representing Georgia, while Padilla will be California's first Latino senator.

Ossoff, 33, will also be the youngest senator in the chamber, and the youngest Democrat to serve in the Senate since President-elect Joe Biden, who was sworn into the chamber at the age of 30 in 1973.

After Warnock, Ossoff and Padilla are sworn in, the party breakdown of the Senate will be 50-50. Democratic Sen. Chuck Schumer will become the first New Yorker and first Jewish lawmaker to become Senate majority leader.

Harris will wield power as the Senate's crucial tie-breaking vote, helping the Biden administration confirm its appointments and giving Democrats the gavels of committees in charge of holding oversight hearings and crafting far-reaching legislation.
. . . and Moscow Mitch becomes Minority Leader.

Scoop: Google won't donate to members of Congress who voted against election results

... Why it matters: Several major businesses paused or pulled political donations following the events of Jan. 6, when pro-Trump rioters, riled up by former President Trump, stormed the Capitol on the day it was to certify the election results.

Facebook also paused its political donations and is reviewing its policies. Microsoft paused its PAC as well.

The social media giant said Sunday it will decide by Feb. 15 after soliciting employee feedback about whether it will continue stopping donations to members of Congress who voted against certifying the election results....

Goya board of directors censures CEO for comments about election fraud

Goya’s board of directors has reportedly voted to censure CEO Robert Unanue after he made unfounded public claims about voter fraud during the 2020 presidential election.

On Inauguration Day on Wednesday, Unanue appeared on Fox Business and said that President Joe Biden’s win was “unverified” and spoke of a coming war.

"I think this is mission accomplished, by the union, the partnership, the conglomerate of social media, big tech, big media and big government for ushering in the dawn of a new world order,” Unanue said on air. “There is a war coming, now that the president is leaving today, they're still coming after the United States, the working class.”

The board’s decision, made Friday and first reported by the New York Post, means that Unanue will no longer be able to speak to the media without first getting permission from the board....

Unanue made waves in July when he praised then-President Donald Trump at a White House event, saying the country was “truly blessed” to have him leading it. Those comments prompted a backlash from a number of Hispanic politicians and led to calls on social media for a boycott of the Latino food company.

Trump supporters then responded by launching a “buy-cott” and Ivanka Trump came out in support of the company, calling on consumers to buy Goya products.

Goya doesn’t publicly disclose financial earnings so it’s unclear what impact Unanue’s comments had on the company. But a source who spoke with CNN Business said the comments “imperiled the future of the company” and that “sales growth is less than it was” before his comments.
:---P The Goya "bean counters" are not pleased.

Trump’s own lawyers ‘secretly drafted’ Texas lawsuit challenging election results, report says

Translation: Trump’s own lawyers found yet a new way to fail miserably at challenging election results, and they managed to shame the Republican attorney general of Texas, Ken Paxton, along with two-thirds of the Republican attorneys general in the process

Some rain on the parade - It may appear that Schumer is in charge, but the real Senate Majority Leader will be Joe Manchin, D(INO)-WV.
Semi-worthless toad.
That said, far better than no parade at all.
Yeah, Manchin has to do what he has to do to keep his seat in ruby-red West Bumfuque, and he's capable of tossing in a monkey wrench. But on most things, I'm guessing he'll be like a redneck version of Susan Collins. A lot of harummph before rolling over.
I'd say that we both nailed it.

Sen. Joe Manchin says he'd 'absolutely' oppose Biden's stimulus checks, then swiftly walks it back after stocks tank
The de facto Majority Leader has spoken.

Manchin will support Democrats' reconciliation bill, allowing COVID relief to move forward without GOP

He was in my top 2 list of favorite coaches.
He's down toward the bottom as a senator and possibly as a human being.

What a dumbass.

Or not. :confusion-scratchheadblue:
How Sen. Manchin is dealing a blow to Democrats' COVID plans and diverting Biden's agenda

Sen. Joe Manchin, D- W.Va., is promising to push his Democratic colleagues into working with Senate Republicans on bipartisan legislation seeking relief for Americans impacted by the coronavirus pandemic.

Manchin said on Fox News Tuesday that any legislation on COVID must attract bipartisan support to gain his vote. The West Virginia Democrat's position creates a serious problem for his party, which holds a slim majority in the Senate with Vice President Kamala Harris as the tie-breaker.
:x
... A progressive political action committee, No Excuses PAC, is looking to find candidates to challenge Manchin as well as fellow moderate Kyrsten Sinema, D-Ariz., Politico reported Tuesday. Both Manchin and Sinema are up for reelection in 2024....
Maybe AZ, but I'm not sure that WV will elect a Dem that's more liberal than DINO Manchin.
The West Virginia Democrat could also toss a wrench in Biden's energy agenda. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer elevated Manchin to lead the powerful Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee, placing a senator from a coal-rich state on a committee pegged to advance clean energy legislation....
That's bad.
