There isn't going to be any "unity" as long as Repugs oppose something just because Dems want it. But for some semblance of it, the President (any President) should say something like this to the minority - "Guys, I'm the President, and my party has control of Congress. I don't expect you to totally support everything we propose, and frankly we're not going to back away from the essence of our proposals just because you have objections. But we are interested in your input and in finding some ways to make our proposals more acceptable to you. So if you accept that our legislation is going to happen, and participate in good faith, you've got a good chance of getting some of your ideas incorporated. If you set up to only obstruct, you won't."
Sure it would be easier to say "many meetings and phone calls" but they don't want the schedule to look like Trump's that had, like, two entries a day and one of them was lunch.

"many meetings and phone calls"
That was trump's official schedule from January 6-20.

I didn't really expect better. Historically there have been far fewer foreign and military policy differences between the parties than either libs or cons want to admit, and Joe has never been seen as a dove. Of course, there was Shrub's extremism and 45SHOLE's bizarre assholery, but those were more personal than partisan dogma.
I guess we can give a big goodbye kiss to ending the idiotic drug war.
"Five White House staffers have been fired a result of prior marijuana use, weeks after the Biden administration said it would loosen these policies in an effort to modernize and expand the pool of people who can work there."

I have a clearance and yes, marijuana use or any drug use is disqualifying if you lie about it. If you admit to it before you fill out your paperwork, stop, then pass a drug test and do not do it again, then you’re fine. But if you lie about prior use or do it while actively holding a clearance, your clearance is stripped. Policy has always been this was and is well known and applies to all federal government employees. This shouldn’t be a shock to anyone.

Also, the admin says out of hundreds of new hires, only five were let go due to drug use, and not just prior drug use. They might have lied about their prior usage, or they might have still been using after hire.
Hey, I don't necessarily agree with the policy, but like the man says, it should not come as a surprise.
