One of the all time best lines.
Still miss him.
That's got to be a record.
rstrong, still making jerks run away with just 2 sentences. What a legacy!
That's because nobody here doesn't like San Francisco. Heck, you even like Oakland. Of course, it would be nice if somebody would explain the concept of "Summer" to SF, but other than that it's probably well worth the outrageous cost to live there.

The shoe fits you so well, Cowerella.
It's OK, cause it's his tacit admission he has nothing of value to post.
Cowering behind ignore - which you fail to comprehend the concept of - is your overt admission that you can't handle questions posed and points made when you've screwed up. Poor baby.
Yep, but Useless will never have the stones to admit that his whiny, victimized accusation is loopy.
Famous quote: "The coldest winter I ever experienced was a summer in San Francisco" - Mark Twain (allegedly)...
Misattributed
* The coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in San Francisco.
* Often attributed to Twain, but of unknown origin. This entry from Quote Investigator discusses some possible early sources.
* Twain did write, in Roughing It:The climate of San Francisco is mild and singularly equable. The thermometer stands at about seventy degrees the year round. It hardly changes at all. You sleep under one or two light blankets Summer and Winter, and never use a mosquito bar. Nobody ever wears Summer clothing. You wear black broadcloth--if you have it--in August and January, just the same. It is no colder, and no warmer, in the one month than the other. You do not use overcoats and you do not use fans. It is as pleasant a climate as could well be contrived, take it all around, and is doubtless the most unvarying in the whole world. The wind blows there a good deal in the summer months, but then you can go over to Oakland, if you choose--three or four miles away--it does not blow there.
"left"? He died in Oakland 10 years ago.
Do you remember the name of the place, and what town?O Really wrote: ↑Tue Oct 19, 2021 11:56 pmI was in and out of the Bay area for years and was always apparently lucky for weather. Whether it was the luck of the season I was there or just a streak of nice weather, it was always beautiful. So imagine my surprise when Lady O and I were there for a week a few years ago in July and it was effin' freezing. Literally had to buy jackets from a street vendor. Didn't ruin the trip, though. Among the other good things, we went to an excellent Chinese restaurant where we were the only non-Chinese guests. Place didn't even have a street-level presence. You had to enter a side street door and take an elevator up to the restaurant, that had a great view. Best Chinese meal ever.
No, and I don't think I could pronounce it at the time. We were staying at one of the many hotels with "Fisherman Wharf" in their name and we asked the Chinese concierge for a recommendation for a nice restaurant in Chinatown that didn't get much tourist trade. It was a very upscale place, although not unreasonably expensive for what it was. We put ourselves in the hands of our server, basically a "feed us something the chef enjoys" and it was indeed great. We had a car, but I think we took the trolley, so it would have been fairly close to the line. Place may not even be there anymore - that was at least 10 years ago.
That isn't exactly the experience we had, but close. And their prices have gone way up since then. But I'm pretty sure that's it.Eight Tables
Restaurant, Chinese, $$$
On the second floor of the China Live complex is Eight Tables, a “private chateau cuisine” fine-dining restaurant meant to emulate the experience of enjoying an elaborate meal in someone’s home. The entrance is reached via a back alley and a secret elevator, which avoids the chaos from the main floor of the busy emporium and sets the stage for what’s to come: a high-end 10-course tasting menu enjoyed at one of – you guessed it – eight tables, separated by walls and screens. The menu is among the priciest in the city (wine pairings are additional), but the exceptional service, beautiful presentation and refined dishes merit the extra expense.

Edit: upon further review, I think it's the same place, but probably under different ownership/management.
That would be stupid.....so it's appropriate that you thought of it. Actually the whole concept of being rewarded for doing what's right or what needed to be done is foreign to me. But it looks good on you.Ulysses wrote: ↑Tue Oct 19, 2021 6:40 pmYou should ask for royalties.neoplacebo wrote: ↑Tue Oct 19, 2021 2:20 pmThat is very much like the attitude I adopt just before I stomp something that needs to be stomped.

Exactly the negative attitude one might expect from a psychotic stomper.neoplacebo wrote: ↑Wed Oct 20, 2021 6:37 amThat would be stupid.....so it's appropriate that you thought of it.
