Nyheim Hines did it twice, 96 and 101 yards! In all of the NFL KOs had only been returned for TDs 4 times all season.

Bears (3-14) clinch No. 1 overall pick with loss, Texans' (3-13-1) victory

Houston won 32-31 on a 28 yard pass and daring 2pt attempt with 0:58 left. That's dedication to playing the season to the final whistle.

Congrats? What position do you think needs the most help?

LOL, the only thing they don't need major help at is hopefully QB.

They are trading down, hope they get a boatload. It's supposed to be a QB rich draft so the haul should be pretty good.

Apparently they re-worked the original without much change except to shoehorn three-syllable "the Commanders" where two-syllable "Redskins" went. Fans may still be singing "Redskins" though.

Don't know if I ever heard anything bad about this guy.

https://www.yahoo.com/sports/j-j-watt-e ... 43662.html
Watt is the president and founder of the Justin J. Watt Foundation, a charity organization that provides after-school opportunities for children in various communities, for them to get involved in athletics in a safe environment.[167][168] The foundation's motto, "Dream Big, Work Hard" is sold on wristbands and T-shirts. Since this foundation was launched in 2010, Watt has raised over $1 million.[168] While most of the schools that benefit from the fundraising are in Texas and Wisconsin, schools in Alabama, Illinois, and California have also received donations. Watt's mother Connie is the vice president of the organization. Watt and the J.J. Watt Foundation host a Charity Classic, Run/Walk, Golf Outing, and Tailgate annually.[169] The Charity Classic is a softball game held at Constellation Field, in Sugar Land, Texas, in which Texans players participate in a game, and Home Run Derby to raise money for the foundation.[170] The inaugural Charity Classic game was in 2013, and the 2014 Charity Classic raised over $436,433 towards his foundation.[171] On August 26, 2014, Watt received the Texans Spirit of the Bull Community Award.[172] On November 14, 2014, Watt was nominated for the NFL's Salute to Service Award that honors either a coach, player, or owner for their efforts in supporting the country's servicemen and women.[173] Due to the extremely good turnout in 2014, the annual Charity Classic has been moved to Minute Maid Park, home of the Houston Astros. The 2015 event raised over $640,000. For the 2017 game, Watt invited Arnold Schwarzenegger and swimmer Simone Manuel, a two-time Olympic gold medalist and native of Houston.[174]

Watt is also known for his interactions with children. On July 2, 2011, the Berry family was traveling home from a vacation in Colorado Springs. The parents, Joshua and Robin Berry, were killed in a head-on collision, and their two sons, Peter and Aaron, were left handicapped. Their daughter Willa suffered minor injuries. Watt met the children at a fundraiser and grew close to them. He played wheelchair basketball with them and mimed rolling a wheelchair after sacking a quarterback in a 2012 game. The mime was an agreed-upon signal between the Berry children and Watt as a post-sack celebration.[175]

Following the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in 2012, Watt found out that some of the affected families were in the Houston area. He invited them out on the field to hang out and throw the football. He then proceeded to give them signed merchandise that he had worn in previous games.[176] In October 2015, he dressed up as Batman to surprise kids at the Texas Children's Hospital for a Halloween party.[177]

He also raised over $37 million ($100,000 of which he personally donated) to help Houston recover from Hurricane Harvey, surpassing his initial goal of $200,000.[178]

After the Santa Fe High School shooting on May 18, 2018, that left eight students and two teachers dead, Watt offered to pay for the funerals of the dead.[179]

Watt covered the funeral costs for the victims of the Waukesha Christmas parade attack, which left six people dead.

I can see wanting to keep the jersey from a last game, but this last game?
17/27, 205 YDS, 7.6 AVG/ATT, 1 TD, 1 INT, 2-17 SACKS, 38.8 QBR
https://www.espn.com/nfl/boxscore/_/gameId/401437952
Maybe he figures it will be valuable on the memorabilia market.

Otoh:
23 year old SF QB Brock Purdy, "Mr. Irrelevant", is 6-0 #2 NFC seed.
College: Iowa State (2018–2021)
NFL Draft: 2022 / Round: 7 / Pick: 262
114/170, 67.1 CMP%, 1,374 YDS, 8.1 AVG/ATT, 13 TD, 4 INT, 107.3 RTG
https://www.espn.com/nfl/player/_/id/43 ... rock-purdy
Cinderella. Even if Jimmy Garoppolo gets healthy it will be difficult to yank Purdy.

Pundits were going on and on about how nobody, just like O Really, thought that Seattle would make the Playoffs at the start of the season. Yippie!

We should give a shout out to Tom for Bradying the NFC, again. It looked like 8-9 TB didn't have a shot, but he pulled off yet another 'just enough' late drive, 2-1.

I was wrong, but happily so. They played well above most anybody's expectations. Meanwhile, Wilson not so much. I guess that's one reason why I and "the pundits" don't run pro football teams.

Exactly, O Really, no one got it right.
I think your Philly's dominance is also a surprise.
Few thought the Jags had a shot.
No one would have picked a Purdy-led SF.

That's off the top of my head. I didn't bother looking up preseason odds.

Lamar Jackson ruled out of Ravens' playoff game vs. Bengals

... Backup quarterback Tyler Huntley was upgraded to a full participant in practice on Friday with a shoulder injury. He's officially listed as questionable for Sunday's game. He was previously limited and missed Sunday's season finale against the Bengals.

Jackson hasn't played since injuring his left knee on Dec. 4 against the Denver Broncos. He was initially expected to return prior to the end of the regular season but instead missed Baltimore's last five games and will now sit for Sunday's wild card game. The Ravens went 2-3 down the stretch with Huntley and third-stringer Anthony Brown playing quarterback....

... Dungy will be calling the Los Angeles Chargers and Jacksonville Jaguars wild-card game on NBC Saturday. As a football fan, I want to watch. But as a gay man, I can’t watch — or listen — if Dungy is broadcasting. I won’t hear the words coming out of his mouth; instead, when he opens his mouth, all I will hear is hate.

Do I watch the game and grit my teeth? Do I watch the game with the sound on mute? Do I even watch any more football on NBC if it involves Dungy? The answer to all these questions is no. I’ll find a way to stay up to speed on the game, and I'm grateful that I'm now up to speed on what's going on with Tony Dungy.
