I still don't understand why people are upset. The voters failed to educate themselves and they voted the man in. Simple solution - vote him out in 2 years.

I signed, but I have mixed feelings. I want him ousted so the seat will flip Dem. However, he is also the perfect posterboy for the lying, corrupt, unrepentant GQP. He puts the 'con' in 'conservative'. It'll be fun to use him to fish slap SINO McCarthy and the GQP for 2 years.

He'll get the Cawthorn treatment. Constituents will vote him out in 2 years and he'll spend these next 2 trying to use his power to enrich himself at all cost, while doing as little as possible to represent any of them.

How fortunate for Santos that his fellow Republicans just voted to gut the Ethics Committee.

And for the record, those 142,000 people voted for a George Santos who didn't actually exist.

i don't care if he resigns or not. i want him arrested for perjury to begin with and an investigation of his fundraising sources AND how he is spending the money he is receiving from them.

The salary for a Freshman Congressman is $174K/year. I suspect he'll do little to no local work within his district. He is on a 2 year paid vacation and will walk away with $348K in taxpayer money (on top of whatever he can get for votes b/c he is 100% for sale).

I believe the most serious, most concerning and the craziest aspect about all this may be that Santos honestly believes, truly believes, that he has done nothing wrong. And that should scare all of us regardless of political party affiliation.

I see it as contributing to going "after the truly crazy destroyers of the country" by repeatedly featuring Sleazy Santos as a posterboy for the GQP, and I see no reason that we can't go after both.

No, there aren't. I read a recent article that pointed out what should be obvious, but it put it so clearly the horror of it couldn't be ignored. It discussed the common line of thought that the Repugs have these "hard right" renegade sorts, the "Freedom Caucus" people, etc., the Boeberts and EmptyG's that have way too much power for their smallish number (maybe 25% of Repugs), and that the other 3/4 are more reasonable, "moderate" people. Then it dropped the hammer - they'll talk "moderate" but look how they vote. And that's with the crazies - every effin' time.

I agree, sorta. Except that significant lies about who you are when running for office shouldn't be a "ho hum, same ol' same ol'" thing. This is not a "puffery" or "marketing" thing or an issue of stretching the truth. He didn't just distort what he'd done - he completely made up a person. If he gets by with this unscathed, it's a very short jump to many elections becoming catfish schemes.

If one perused the comments under the image, one would find that many conservatives believe that these men are what gay men generally look like.

“LOL,” Tenney wrote when tweeting the image, which was part of a rumor at the time that Pelosi is actually gay and was in a sexual relationship with the man who attacked him. There was no reason to believe either of those claims.
