Ex President* Trump

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

I'm fairly confident that most of the country is tired of his shtick. He's getting zero traction and may not even survive the primaries.
Oh sure, most of the country is tired of him. But when the Repug clown car starts rolling, they're not going to have anybody to run over Trump by themselves. Maybe DeSantis, they say, but he could sneak in again as the second choice of everyone like he did in 2016.
Very possible. But he's started so early and already gone so vicious, well before the national conciousness is even beginning to look at 2024 that his cries of Wolf seem to be mostly falling on deaf ears.

It seems to be pissing him off and frustrating him to no end and it's glorious.

He had a campaign thing last night right in his own back yard at a Palm Beach hotel. Small crowd, ballroom size. Same old same old. Don't think anyone covered it.

I noticed in that "shrine" photo that each American flag has just 24 stars. So both of them contain 48 stars. Makes me wonder if it's a subtle hint that he figures to stay president should he be re elected. What an ass. I hope he dies soon.

DeSantis would likely be worse than dump

Undoubtedly, in terms of getting evil done, particularly if he got control of both House and Senate.

Good eye. The last time the flag of the United States had 24 stars was 1835.

Desantis is an empty suit. His wife is the brains of the outfit. Watch the gov debate with Crist, desantis looked dim. When the repub debates begin trump and all the other candidates will team up on desantis and America will see he's not quick witted as person must be for presidential level politics.

Hope so, but how do you explain this

Education: Naval Justice School (2005), Harvard Law School (2005), Yale University (2001)
Trump: “We had the safest border in the history of our country - or at least recorded history. I guess maybe a thousand years ago it was even better.”

He's clearly very intelligent in some ways, but that might not translate well into building a wider base than the trumpster types. His umm "ideas" for governing are certainly not intelligent according to most standards, and he does run a risk of looking stupid if he tries to push some of that stuff nationally. He panders only to the trump-type base, with no effort to include the other half of his own state, less extreme Repugs or Unaffiliateds. That's not real smart. Plus, he's an asshole, which in most cases doesn't help.

That.
I've previously said he won't play in Peoria, plus he's got a big disadvantage compared to trump of 2016.

A track record.

Good research. That might be it, though it assumes that Dolt .45 or his minions aren't clueless about history.

After I posted about the two flags having 48 stars between them, I checked it out like billy.pilgrim must have. The US flag went to 24 stars in 1822 and remained that way until 1836 when two more states came in. But I figure trump and his cult would most likely approve of the way things were during that period. No way to know if this is subtle messaging or just more stupidity. All in all, I think the photo would have been more appealing to me had the trump portrait and the table and things on it be on fire.

Finding meaning in the 24 stars is, IMNVHO, too esoteric to expect of trumpists. My guess is that it's just the artist trying to get a balanced effect and not crowd in all the stars - and thinking most if any wouldn't notice. Not a very good/smart thing to do, but more like the way they draw cartoon characters with 4 fingers than any deep symbolism.
