The car thread ...

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Suicide.
Many commenters suggest that. Seems like an odd and unpredictable site to me, but could be. Sure doesn't look like any effort to avoid the wreck.

Good point. Others suggest cell phone use or Tesla self-drive.

Couldn't tell if it was a Tesla, but it sure looked like it was accelerating.

Or a suicide by car. It wouldn't be the 1st time.

Yeah, that was my first impression.

I saw this and first thought was another "just because you can doesn't mean you should." But actually it's pretty creative/cool. South African guy just kept building on a Toyota Tazz (Corolla)

Interesting pic here - I'm guessing it's a 57ish Ford, going mainly by the slope of the windshield post and the fender mirror. The instrument panel isn't original, but it looks custom. Anyway, look at the hard, sharp, and hazardous wheel there, considering also likely no seat belts. Horn ring breaks like a knife; wheel breaks off and post goes right through you. Pretty design, though.

No blood or body pieces? Seems sometime in my misspent yout the school showed a film about crashes - and maybe drunk driving. Very graphic. Somewhere a guy took the totally crumpled wreck that his daughter got killed in around to all the high schools in his area. Set it out in the parking lot.

We had one of those in our parking lot for awhile.

We could really use some "just the facts, ma'am" today. Most now wouldn't recognize a fact if they tripped over it.

May be the little Kia Souls are safer than you'd think. Driver climbed out and walked away.

In yet another example of how it's so easy to learn absolutely nothing from the internet without putting in a bit of effort, I saw two articles, one listed "Cars Most Likely To Give Up In 100,000 Miles" and the other was "The 14 Longest-Lasting, Most Durable Cars On The Road." Is anybody surprised that there was significant overlap and that, for example, the #1 on the "worst" list, the Nissan Titan, was #6 on the "best" list.

Depends on which authors, websites and magazines have been bribed.
