Las Vegas Bandits. I like it. Do they have to play with only one arm?

And Utah Jazz was a bad choice in 1979 and hasn't gotten better with age.

;) "Las Vegas Slots" sounds creepy, and the Raiders mystique would not be entirely lost.

A lazy non-choice, it was a good name for a New Orleans team.

Jazz is a good name for New Orleans sure but so would be Crawfish or Bayou Bandits or Raging Cajuns but they don't travel especially not to Utah.

Silly boys.

The only name that should be considered is the Washington Lobbyists.

I don't know what Araiza and his teammates did - maybe they drugged and raped a 17-year old kid. Or maybe not. With one side of the story from "Ms. Doe" on the table and no supporting evidence yet, it's clear teams no longer care about "fair" or anything other than avoiding controversy that could cost them some money.

I have no doubt that something happened the night in question, and it probably wasn't very gentlemanly. But I've never read a civil complaint yet in which the plaintiff's lawyer didn't exaggerate their story and include every single possibility of harm.

Your dog broke its leash and jumped on and licked the hand of a bystander? "Defendant showed callous and gross negligence while shopping for a leash and did not have any scientific tests conducted to determine the leash was in fact appropriate to hold a 20-pound dog under any and all circumstances. Further, the defendant was holding the leash in only one hand even though he knew or should have known the animal was capable of pulling. When the beast broke free, the defendant was unable or unwilling to regain any control before the vicious attack occurred and the creature had put his tongue on the plaintiff's hand, with the resultant risk of ick and disease ... yada.
"Ex-Buffalo Bills punter Matt Araiza won't face charges in sexual assault case"
https://www.yahoo.com/sports/ex-bills-p ... 57186.html
You'd think lawyers were paid by the word.

"I am never surprised when a prosecutor does not file sexual assault charges when the victim was intoxicated,'' the woman's attorney, Dan Gilleon, said in a statement provided to USA TODAY Sports. "It’s a very rare case where the criminal justice system achieves anything satisfactory for the victim in a sexual assault.

"In the criminal system, the victim is just another witness. She is not represented by anyone. Prosecutors cannot file charges unless they think they can get a unanimous decision from all jurors who cannot vote to convict unless they’re convinced beyond any reasonable doubt. The lawsuit we filed is not in the criminal justice system.''
Though this rings mostly true.
Whatever happened it sucks for Araiza that he (probably) wasn't there and that the evidence makes "prosecuting anyone for rape impossible."

Prosecutors: Former Bills punter Matt Araiza wasn't present during alleged gang rape
A recently released 200-plus-page transcript details exculpatory evidence in the case vs. Matt Araiza

I wonder if this crushes the civil suit and whether some team will give “Punt God” a shot now.

For people who may want to feel superior about those having trouble with the logos, try identifying plain logos from CFL or NHL. But it's still funny - some names are better than the real ones. "Pirates of the Caribbean/"

I'd fail a lot of those, especially CFL.

Yeah especially since a lot of those logos are now defunct. There's only nine teams now.

You might be forgiven for missing the EE logo if you said "Edmonton Eskimos." It is indeed the logo the Eskimos used until they fairly recently became the "Elks".

Ok then.

Trubisky threw 7-for-13 in the pocket for 84 yards and one interception before the Steelers decided to bench the sixth-year veteran.

Pickett threw an interception immediately upon arriving in the game.

Ok then.
Your boy has found a home, as a "top-tier" backup quarterback.

... "We feel good about our quarterback room, and that was an important piece," (Steelers general manager Omar) Khan said in the interview. "We've got, obviously, Kenny Pickett is our starter. We feel really good about Mitch Trubisky in the role that he's in. He feels good about it. We've added Mason Rudolph. We feel really good about the QB room." ...

Pace is not a general manager, but look at what he's still doing:

It's not starter money, but $18.6M+ over 2 years for a mediocre QB who has to show up for practice and usually not play ain't bad. GoMitchGo. ;)

Detroit's first 100 yard game since 2013.

Kerryon Johnson
. . . on just 16 carries, and that was more yards than all of the Pats. Plus, Matthew Stafford had a QB Rating of 101.9 while Brady only managed 65.1. Then, it's also ancient Drew Brees setting lifetime NFL records. More on the weird week:

Too bad he was too hurt to play in our sec championship loss to uga and in our bowl loss to the wannabees.
He kept getting hurt. His NFL career lasted all of 17 starts for the Lions over 3 years. :(

Kerryon Johnson named University of North Alabama’s director of player personnel

At least he's found work.

Good for him

Maybe it's time to look at the number of per game rushing attempts allowed.

Malzahn is big on rushing one guy 30, 40 even as many as 46 attempts per game. Maybe everyone does this, I don't know.

He ran Tre Mason 30+ all season and then 46 in the sec championship. He couldn't make it in the pros due to off-field problems and his mom claims he has the mind of a 10 year old
