Dumb headlines thread

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

I do concede that MSN and the St. Louis Post Dispatch should have corrected the inaccurate headline, but that doesn't seem to be how re-posting works. I was just IDing a possible cause for the original inaccuracy.
Sure but the French wouldn't excuse an English speaker so graciously for such l'abomination de la langue.

True dat. Lack of understanding of the law, and frequently willful ignorance on the part of employers has been good to me. I suppose I should join Trump in "loving the poorly educated."

"Sheriff: Uber Eats driver slain, dismembered making delivery"

https://www.yahoo.com/news/sheriff-uber ... 32551.html

Punctuation and word order matter.

(I passed up the opportunity to post this in "Eat the Rich" and "Food Thread", and it could appropriately be in "Florida Man")

"Michael J. Fox suffers tragic fall at movie panel after admitting his Parkinson’s disease has been ‘getting harder’ — Photos"

"tragic", really?! Seriously?

While the actor was appearing at a Back to the Future Q&A panel in Pennsylvania with former costars Christopher Lloyd and Tom Wilson, Fox appeared to sadly lose his balance while making his way onto the stage.

Luckily, the 61-year-old landed on the couch in front of him, rather than the hard floor and seemed to be uninjured by the fall.

Yeah, I don't mean to make light of his condition - Parkinson's is sad and the disease could certainly be called tragic. But the fall? "Tragic" should require at least some kind of injury. Falling onto a couch is barely embarrassing, not tragic.

Should be Gavin Bs :o . Lots of dick logos, nttawwt. Hmmm. For example:
The Proper Way

There are some logos that require you to look at them the proper way in order to understand the intended meaning. Like this logo here, which is not easy to forget, after what you see at a glance…

Image

Or rather, it’s not easy to forget what you immediately think after that first glance. It was really hard to comprehend the intended meaning if the explanation was not given by the person who pointed it out. Yet, even after the given explanation, you’ll find it difficult to look at it in the intended way!

Maybe I've looked at too many logos, but I'm not sure what's so wrong about this one:
Founding Something Else

This particular foundation has clearly found a new standard of poor logo design. As for the first mistake, the H is dotted here, which is just bizarre! Never dot your H, folks!

Image

People went on to joke that the logo design must be inspired by some teenage boy’s search history. Joking aside, such callousness is destructive to the reputation of any organization out there. After all, it doesn’t take much time to double-check a design before finalizing it.
What am I missing? The dots just turn the H legs into stylized people, possibly adults relative to the J. Are they nipples???
Mega… What?!

Ah, good ol’ MegaFlicks. Yes, that’s what this logo says — MegaFlicks. If you read something else, don’t worry, you’re most certainly not the only one who saw it that way at first.

Image

Honestly, we wouldn’t be surprised if logo fails like this one is part of what contributed to streaming platforms taking over movie rental places. We most certainly wouldn’t want to walk into that store for a movie… who knows if we’d ever make it out?!
:laughing-rolling: Intentional?
The Acronym

Speaking factually, there’s nothing wrong with the logo. What’s wrong is the name of the group itself, and that makes the logo and everything else, well, wrong!

Image

This is a group with feminist ideologies for sure, but they should consider the name before finalizing it. Because the acronym of the full name is something, which is the opposite of the probable agenda of the group. Of course, the internet didn’t waste any time pointing out the irony.
:headscratch: I had to look that one up:
Spoiler:
fap

verb
to masturbate.
noun
the act of masturbation by a male.
This shop is now illegal in TN, FL and several other southern states:
Kidding, Right?

Here comes another logo risky enough to traumatize any kid. The logo of the Kids Exchange can have a far-reaching impact that’s more than just being a funny design fail and that’s why it faced uproar from the public.

Image

The logo was simple, colorful, and fun until the designers forgot about a simple yet vital rule of grammar… Two individual words should always come with a gap in between them. Honestly, any kid could have taught them that!
