Ravens' Tylan Wallace Thrills NFL Fans with Walk-Off Punt Return TD in OT vs. Rams

The Baltimore Ravens were locked in a slugfest against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday that went to overtime, but a miraculous play from an unlikely hero.

Third-year wide receiver Tylan Wallace delivered a walk-off 37-31 win for the Ravens with a thrilling 76-yard punt return touchdown in the extra period.

He had to work for that one.

Wallace had not returned a punt or kickoff in a game this season and was inserted into the role after Devin Duvernay exited Sunday's game with a back injury. In fact, he had no punt returns in his NFL career prior to Sunday and only had two kickoff returns that came in his rookie season in 2021. He also has not recorded any catches this season and had only appeared in six games as a special teamer before Sunday's matchup.

Bet he gets more playing time now.

... The Ravens have looked like one of the top contenders in the AFC throughout this season, but sometimes it takes some magic to get a win. They got that from Wallace, who is a prime example of staying ready to perform whenever his number is called....

Nick Mullens makes history for Vikings with eye on postseason

Mullens will be the Vikings' fourth starting quarterback in the past seven games, following Kirk Cousins, Jaren Hall and Joshua Dobbs. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, the Vikings will be the 29th NFL team since 1950 to endure that frequency of turnover at the position.

That's not the wild part, however. Such a turn of events has usually led to disaster. In fact, only four of the previous 28 teams have made the playoffs, and all of them -- most recently the 2013 Green Bay Packers -- have gotten their original starter back for at least a portion of the remainder of the season. And even in the messy interim, none of them got wins from all four of their starters in that seven-game stretch (except for during the 1987 strike season).

The 2023 Vikings would be the first if Mullens -- named the team's starting quarterback this week by coach Kevin O'Connell -- can lead them to a victory over the Bengals. If he does, the Vikings would have an excellent chance -- 78.5%, according to ESPN's Football Power Index -- to be the first team in NFL history to make the playoffs after losing their starting quarterback for the season and rotating three other starters in their lineup so quickly after the injury.

Even if they lose Saturday, FPI would still give them a 51.5% chance to reach the postseason, albeit in a larger 14-team field than some of their predecessors. Put more simply, the Vikings are well on their way to one of the most objectively improbable playoff runs in NFL history....

Just because the computer spits out a stat doesn't mean that a reporter has to use it.

I don't know what Araiza and his teammates did - maybe they drugged and raped a 17-year old kid. Or maybe not. With one side of the story from "Ms. Doe" on the table and no supporting evidence yet, it's clear teams no longer care about "fair" or anything other than avoiding controversy that could cost them some money.

I have no doubt that something happened the night in question, and it probably wasn't very gentlemanly. But I've never read a civil complaint yet in which the plaintiff's lawyer didn't exaggerate their story and include every single possibility of harm.

Though this rings mostly true.

Whatever happened it sucks for Araiza that he (probably) wasn't there and that the evidence makes "prosecuting anyone for rape impossible."
