The Panthers could take this snub as a slight, but it probably beats having to play on Thursday.

Carolina played one Thursday Night Football game last year, a 16-13 loss to the Chicago Bears. They also fell 20-17 to the New Orleans Saints during a Week 2 Monday Night Football doubleheader.

There's hope:

Despite Wednesday's scheduling slight, the Panthers could still prove the NFL wrong and earn a primetime appearance later this season. The league allows flex scheduling for Thursday, Sunday, and Monday night primetime games.
