I’m not into baseball that much, but the Yankees vs Dodgers intrigues me. Shohei Ohtani vs Aaron Judge!

Who will you guys be rooting for?

My Dad loves Shohei, so I wouldn’t mind the Dodgers winning. I got to attend a Dodgers home game way back in 1982, when I was seven years old.

On the other hand, Aaron Judge is amazing and the Yankees have so much history.

I'm happy to see the two teams with the most World Series history back again. It would be nice if they did some sort of recognition of all the great players that have played for those teams in former Series. I'd prefer a Yankee win, but either way I'm happy.

Battle of the two evil empires.

Great history, good for the game.

I was a Phillies fan when I was a kid, but the Yanks were my American League favourite. I remember Larsen's perfect game against the Dodgers and when I went into Little League I wanted to wear Berra's 8. Wore it all through High School.

Yeah, but "Dodger Blue" is a thing.

No one ever thinks of "Yankee Blue."

Okay, we've got 2 pulling for the Yankees, one for the Dodgers. Jasmine, that's it for the BRDistas who care about sports. Have you made up your mind?

I’ll say Yankees because of Aaron Judge.

Cheapest nosebleed tickets at Dodgers stadium d
For the first game is about $1300, with parking $100 and up depending on how far you're willing to walk. $15 beer.

:o
:angry-banghead: Parking at an outlying subway station will be cheaper or free.

LA Metro says you can walk from Dodger Stadium to Chinatown station in 25 minutes. We tried the path

1.2 miles, the reporter did it in less. I'm not sure why there isn't a Dodger Stadium station.

Yeah but that's 1.2 miles and 25 minutes before the game. Probably different 4 hours and some beers later.

Idk why they only discuss leaving. Maybe they figure arrivals will be more spread out and there won't be long lines to catch the buses from Union Station to the stadium.
EDIT: Yeah, that looks like it:

Your point is well taken, best allow more than 25 minutes, including stopping at a bar or two along the way to "rest" :D

And it's a different walk after dark, too. Really, the distance isn't that big of a deal, but I thought there were some sketchy looking places going along. Go in a group.

There's some discussion of that in the article, though the bigger fear is of the thousands of drunks leaving the stadium on roads where crossing is not optimum for pedestrians, as LA tends to be.

Too bad he couldn't have held off long enough to see the Series.
Tonight 9pm ET, ESPNW:
30 for 30
Fernando Nation
Episode aired Oct 26, 2010
TV-G 54m

"The Natural is supposed to be a blue-eyed boy who teethed on a 36-ounce Louisville Slugger. He should run like the wind and throw boysenberries through brick. He should come from California." Steve Wulf, Sports Illustrated, 1981. So how was it that a pudgy 19-year-old Mexican left-handed pitcher from a remote village in the Sonoran desert, unable to speak a word of English, could sell out stadiums across America and become a rock star overnight? In Fernando Nation, Mexican-born and Los Angeles-raised director Cruz Angeles traces the history of a community that was torn apart when Dodger Stadium was built in Chavez Ravine and then revitalized by one of the most captivating pitching phenoms baseball has ever seen. Nicknamed "El Toro" by his fans, Fernando Valenzuela ignited a fire that spread from LA to New York -- and beyond. He vaulted himself onto the prime-time stage and proved with his signature look to the heavens and killer screwball that the American dream was not reserved for those born on U.S. soil. In this layered look at the myth and the man, Cruz Angeles recalls the euphoria around Fernando's arrival and probes a phenomenon that transcended baseball for many Mexican-Americans. Fernando Valenzuela himself opens up to share his perspective on this very special time. Even 20 years later, "Fernandomania" lives.
