I’m not going to lie and say I’m disappointed. I thought Kamala would be horrible for our country. She was an embarrassment as far as presidential candidates go.

But, as a reminder, I did not vote for Trump.

It's kind of wild that Trump's plan is "tariffs", yet he doesn't actually understand them himself. It's so stupidly simple to understand, too. This was one red flag amongst the many fluttering around red square.

Wisconsin did follow. Michigan, AZ and NV are likely to. Landslide for TRE45QN Racism, christofascism and misogyny are powerful here.

NC was mostly bad :
Dolt .45 51-48. Stein and West made no difference.
MAGAt "Freedom" Caucus creep Chuck Edwards retained the Meadows/MadCaw NC11 57-43. We sure can pick them.
As expected, Josh Stein (D) trounced crazy Asshole Mark Robinson 55-40. Our first Jewish Gov!
Lt Gov a pleasant surprise to me. Rachel Hunt (D) won 49-48. The family dynasty continues.
Jeff Jackson (D) beat wingnut Dan Bishop for AG 51-49. PHEW! Women and the rest of us will be defended.
SECRETARY OF STATE won by Elaine Marshall (D) 51-49. Our elections will be defended.
SUPERINTENDENT OF PUBLIC INSTRUCTION barely won by Maurice (Mo) Green (D) 51-49. I'm feeling good about my vote for fundy home schooler Michele Morrow in the competitive primary. A saner R likely would have won.
Not so good with the rest of the Council of State:
RepuQs won COMMISSIONER OF AGRICULTURE, COMMISSIONER OF INSURANCE (ugh), COMMISSIONER OF LABOR ( ) and TREASURER ( ).
Idk how the Leg shook out. It currently has a veto-proof RepuQ majority.

Our Judiciary sucks big time:
Allison Riggs (D) was winning her SC seat with 2651 of 2658 Precincts counted. She lost 50.09% to 49.91% The SC flipped to a 4-3 RepuQ majority in 2023. They immediately greenlit odious gerrymandering Now, it will be 5-2.
GQP won all 3 COURT OF APPEALS slots and most but not all SUPERIOR COURT and DISTRICT JUDGE races.

Local races are as bad as ever:
GQP won NC Senate and 2 House seats, both County Commissioner seats, all 4 School Board seats.
Otoh, the Dem Party picks won all 3 City Council seats.
Oh well, everyone will be focusing on Helene recovery for a long time. Hopefully, partisanship won't matter.
