I’ve been having bad luck with my starter word lately. I might change it.

I have a list that I cycle through. I haven't bothered analyzing which are the good ones and not over time.

This sounds weird, I know, but I’m scared of changing my starter words because I would die if the old word turned out to be the solution.

Why is it "weird" to have a list?

Some of my starter words have turned out to be the solution, but never when I started with them. I didn't die. I remove them from my list.

Never done that, but have had a couple of past starter words be solutions.

I started pulling away from Vrede when I went random. My only criteria is two vowels and at least one WoF letter while staying away from seldom used letters like V, Z or Q.

If I'm web surfing before playing I'll scan whatever I'm reading looking for a starter. I generally try for two vowels on my second try also and lean towards not using a double letter until my fourth try if possible.

That’s a great strategy! I also try to start with words that have at least two vowels.
