He was one of those players who changed the complexion of any game he got on base. Too young. Too many athletes die young. One wonders if their confident mindset of being bullet proof never leaves them.

Every walk or single had the possibility of being a triple.

Sounds like he had health problems including severe asthma and sinus issues.
