Question: Do you support Donald Trump eliminating all taxes for Americans earning less than $150,000 a year ?
I don’t. I think every working American should share the pain and responsibility of paying income taxes. My position has always been to implement a straight flat tax. No matter if you’re filthy rich or dirt poor, if you have an income you should pay the exact same flat rate. The rate can go up or down, but it should impact everyone the same.
Thoughts?

I don't agree with cutting taxes and then whining that there's no money for essential services. Repugs have done this over and over. A better budgeting process would help.
I like flat rate. Pennsylvania used to have that (and may still, I don't know). Worked well, lots simpler. Problem is, though, the impact on someone taxed 15% on $400,000 is way less than the impact of the same 15% on somebody making $40,000. But the graduated tax could be made a lot simpler and better if it worked like a flat rate that everybody pays based only on the fixed rate for an income range. It's really all the deductions, exemptions, and other fog that makes our system funky.

I just want a flat tax. No graduated tax. No exemptions or deductions. In my opinion, that’s how a lot of cheating occurs. Everyone pays the exact same rate.O Really wrote: ↑Fri Mar 14, 2025 12:05 amI don't agree with cutting taxes and then whining that there's no money for essential services. Move to PA. Flat rate income tax 3 percent. Beware the sales and property taxes though. Every tax scheme is cats in a bag no matter where.

Understood! I’m happy where I am, though. I can’t even imagine living on the mainland, especially a place like Pennsylvania. Too cold.
