Waste to Energy Plant in Penrose

Unread post by NCRoughneck »

Seems to me we need to be careful and cautious before allowing this plant to be built.

Oh my gawd! The world's going to end if this plant is built! Oh boo hoo, what are we going to do? Call in the Sierra Club! Call RiverLink!

Call your congressmen and senators! We can't let this happen!

Bunch of "the sky is falling" moonbats. The same rhetoric was sounded when it was announced the asphalt plant was going to be built off Asheville Hwy.

I will. Why don't you sell them a piece of property next door to you since you love the technology so much. We will see during the hearing process what positive effects such a plant will have for our communities won't we?

What's wrong with being cautious? You know, checking into it.... getting all the facts...? Oh wait... I forgot who I was replying to.

Verde, Please move as it would be more appropriate there. There is a meeting tonight at Transylvania County Library. More information should be disclosed soon.

What exactly are the health risks from a closed loop pyrolysis design system? Any specifics? Sources? Documentation?

I attending the meeting. There was a slick presentation by the NY lawyer before the eruption of total distrust. The county commissions are very weak in the county and only two were visible at the meeting and took the brunt of the negative comments for keeping this quiet so long. The owner of the property was there but didn't stand up an executive from the company stood during the question period with the lawyer but kept his mouth shut and added no value to the discussion. Very poor PR from the start for this whole project. The secrecy surrounding the negotiations with the county also raised questions about what was really going on. The County Commissioners said they have no control over what happens because there is no zoning in the county.
