Donny, are you ok?

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

I understand that observation. What is interesting about Trump is that many of his supporters find him offensive in his style, but firmly stand behind his policies.
Yeah, but that's likely because they don't look further than the surface of the policy. F'rinstance, most everybody can support the policy of identifying and deporting criminals who are undocumented immigrants. But maybe not by violating the law to do so. And maybe not to put them in concentration camps, and maybe not to perp-walk the abuela who's been cleaning their house and taking care of their kids for years.

It's standard Republican mantra to cut taxes (for some), reduce size of government, cut regulations, enforce "law and order", be good to corporations, be tough on labor, and wave the US flag. Pretty much every Republican since Reagan has campaigned on some version of these. So it's easy to hear Trump's sweeping grandiose promises and think "hey, that's good - if he does that, I can put up with his crass crudeness, narcissistic personality, and underlying cruelty."

Look just a little below the surface to see what's really happening in implementation of these pie in the sky policies, and one might realize it's not what they thought they were voting for.

Quite frankly, Rosie is not worth Trump's time.
And yet, she knows exactly how to get him to say stupid and whiny things.

Such as, along with the entire Leopards thread that GoCubsGo links:
Slashing Medicaid after promising he wouldn't?
Slashing children's nutrition and early education programs?
Deporting children with cancer?
Claiming to halt farm and hotel raids and then not doing so?
Deploying troops to LA at enormous cost when the LA city and county cops had the unrest well in hand and did not want assistance that was guaranteed to exacerbate tensions?
Ending childhood cancer research?
The DoJ implosion?
The Elon Mush implosion?
Massively increasing the deficit?
Erratic tariff policy?
Taxing Americans with the tariffs that have been put in place?
Tanking the midterms?
Pardoning people who violently attacked police?
Slashing NOAA, NWS and FEMA?
I could go on for hours just listing things that many if not most cons should object to. Of course, cultists don't really count as cons anymore.

We're only six months in even though it feels like fucking forever. It's not all sunshine and roses, especially this week.

All the posts have been to me. I may play along until he repeats the behavior that made me get bored and mute him in the first place. I don't expect it to take long.

:lol: Never mind, I thought I was special. :doh:

Those immigration polling numbers are wild, thanks. I thought US bigotry was deeper than that.
Nice try, but after the dust settles the bill and Trump's actions will be taken as whole Then people will make their decisions. Meanwhile, the democrats continue to self destruct with their own actions.

I can't wait to see what the moronic cult members will have to say when they start having to pay 30 or 40 percent more for damn near everything they buy while listening to Republicans telling them how many new factories and jobs will be created. Hilarious. A goddamn fairy tale.

Nice try, but people are looking at the BUB "as whole" and their view of it even before passage was abysmal. Couldn't even address one of the list of DonOLD's policies that you supposedly "firmly stand behind"? Classic SoupySales and MAGA avoidance. This is why I muted your original handle. There's no point to debate and I just get tempted to waste my time.

Anyhow, the major elements of the BUB are known and none of them are popular:
The massive granny-killing Medicaid cut that you denied was coming;
Massive budget-busting tax break for fat cats. Funny how MAGA now firmly stands behind huge deficit spending;
Turning the $9B ICE into a $170B behemoth. GoCubsGo just gave you the popularity rating of ICE - Classic SoupySales and MAGA avoidance;
Slashing children's nutrition and early education programs;
All the individual pork riders.
That is your "whole".
