Re: Latin America
Thanks. My initial reaction was to wonder where it was going, why would 11 people be on a drug boat when it's usually 2, and whether there had been any demand to halt.GoCubsGo wrote: ↑Tue Sep 02, 2025 10:54 pmhttps://bsky.app/profile/chrislhayes.bs ... vbwfbgx222

Also, how could he have known that it was a Tren de Aragua boat?

Re: Latin America
I thought the drug smugglers in Latin America used home made submarines now. From the video I saw, it doesn't seem like a hell of a lot of drugs AND 11 people could have been on that boat at the same time.
Next week it will be revealed that the boat was actually just a fishing outing.

Assuming that's true, that doesn't negate the "civilian boat in international waters..." facts.supesalemgr2 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 03, 2025 10:58 am
A boat type used for drug smuggling.
A bunch of guys with packages in the boat.
Intelligence that indicates probable drug smuggling
Boom.
Choose to think otherwise if you choose.
Just more psychotic disregard for well-established law.
Now if they'd waited until the boat was in US waters... but nooooo. Gotta be a global bully as well as a power-drunk autocrat.

I choose to fall into the camp of an international terrorist operation and worthy of destruction. I have a feeling the majority of the American people agree with this action.O Really wrote: ↑Wed Sep 03, 2025 11:31 amAssuming that's true, that doesn't negate the "civilian boat in international waters..." facts.supesalemgr2 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 03, 2025 10:58 am

You're fucked up.
How do you know it wasn't a fishing boat?
Because DonOld says so?
Yeah right, I forgot. He NEVER lies.

Drug smuggling, even assuming it was, is not a terrorist act.

I will take the military's assessment it was a drug smuggling operation. I am sorry O Really does not like my assessment of the operation.

It occurred to me that I'm glad these trigger-happy clowns weren't around back in the day when I had a friend with a 37' Cigarette boat that we used to cruise around in off Islamorada. I think we probably met most of the attack criteria. "Smuggling" boat, packages (beer, coolers, fish boxes), suspicious guys (lawyers, insurance guys, accountants, etc.). I'm lucky to be alive. And glad to be old.

Re: Latin America
Not the point. Even assuming it was a verified and proven drug smuggling operation, shooting it out of the water in international waters is not acceptable. Reverse the situation and let it be a boat full of US citizens get blown up in international waters by some other country that thought they were carrying drugs. Still happy about it?supesalemgr2 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 03, 2025 1:33 pmI will take the military's assessment it was a drug smuggling operation. "Evil drugs", made extremely lucrative by the Failed prohibition bloodthirsty sheeple like SoupySales blindly support, is the excuse for gutting the Constitution, creating massive debt, enriching and arming violent US gangs, wrecking relations with our neighbors and other countries, abandoning human needs, and now committing mass murder on the high seas.O Really wrote: ↑Wed Sep 03, 2025 1:37 pmNot the point. Re: Latin America
What kind of world have we found ourselves in where the military can attack a civilian boat on the open seas based on a suspicion of smuggling and a lot of citizens just say "yay - go killum"? I'd like to see the part of law where that's allowed. Probably Supes can provide a quick cite.

Ironic that 'illegal' drugs are 'bad' but the many illegal acts by the convicted felon Cult leader are always peachy.O Really wrote: ↑Wed Sep 03, 2025 2:08 pmWhat kind of world have we found ourselves in where the military can attack a civilian boat on the open seas based on a suspicion of smuggling and a lot of citizens just say "yay - go killum"? Re: Latin America
So Supes - is it an accurate statement to say that you, along with those that agree with you, believe that it's OK for a country (any country) to choose to ignore or violate international law as a matter of official policy in the pursuit of its own internal criminal law? Can Mexico sink a US civilian boat that it believes may be bringing in foreign-made tequila in violation of import restrictions? Can Canada sink a US civilian boat that it believes contains hunters carrying firearms not allowed in Canada? Could/would the US sink a Venezuelan smuggler if the the cargo was kids? If you're not going to follow the law, who makes the rules?

Re: Latin America
I would find it perfectly acceptable for another government to blow a boat from the US to smitherenes if it was smuggling drugs. That is a very unlikely scenario. What IS happening was addressed.O Really wrote: ↑Wed Sep 03, 2025 1:37 pmNot the point.
