Who Is Vance Boelter? What We Know About Suspect in Democrat Assassination

Law enforcement sources have identified 57-year-old Vance Luther Boelter as the suspect in the targeted shooting of two Minnesota state lawmakers early Saturday morning, according to the Associated Press....

Why It Matters

Minnesota Democratic state Representative Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark, were pronounced dead Saturday morning after a gunman posing as law enforcement arrived at their home in the early hours and shot them.

The gunman, who remains at large, had targeted the home of another Democratic lawmaker, state Senator John Hoffman, shortly before the attack on the Hortmans. Hoffman and his wife Yvette were shot multiple times and underwent surgery.

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz called the shooting "a politically motivated assassination."

Who Is Vance Boelter?

... Boelter also previously served on Minnesota's Governor's Workforce Development Board, appointed by Governor Mark Dayton in 2016 and reappointed by Walz in 2019.

The governor's office appoints thousands of people of all parties to these boards and commissions—that particular board has about 60 people on it. These are unpaid, external boards that the legislature creates, not appointments to positions in the governor's Cabinet....
Vance Boelter's Friend Reveals More Details About Assassination Suspect

... What To Know

... Carlson told KARE 11that Boelter voted for President Donald Trump in the 2024 election, and that he was a "strong supporter." ...
Just like clockwork dishonest, cowardly MAGA desperately deflects when a con does something wrong:
MAGA Pounds Tim Walz for Once Appointing Minnesota Assassin to State Board

Several Make America Great Again (MAGA) figures, such as Laura Loomer, are criticizing Democratic Minnesota Governor Tim Walz over his ties to the suspect in Saturday's deadly shooting.
Loomer is a whackjob who is very close to TACO DonOLD.
Vance Boelter, identified by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI)as the suspect in the deadly shooting of (Democratic) state Representative Melissa Hortman and her husband, was appointed to a state board by Walz in 2019. Boelter had also been appointed by the previous governor in 2016, according to documents reviewed by Newsweek....

Why It Matters

... The gunman, who remains at large, had targeted the home of another Democratic lawmaker, state Senator John Hoffman, shortly before the attack on the Hortmans. Hoffman and his wife Yvette were shot multiple times and underwent surgery.

... MAGA has been critical of Walz, particular during his Democratic vice presidential campaign in 2024 when he was chosen as then-Vice President Kamala Harris' running mate. There is no indication that Walz is at all involved in the shootings.

What To Know

Boelter, 57, was appointed by Walz in 2019 to serve on the Governor's Workforce Development Board until 2023, according to documents reviewed by Newsweek.

... He was previously appointed to a similar role in 2016 under then-Governor Mark Dayton, a Democrat.

The appointment is not for a position in the governor's Cabinet.

The board, made up of leaders from business, education, labor and other sectors, advises the governor on workforce development strategies. A list of the 2020 board members shows over 60 people affiliated.

... Loomer, a conservative personality and supporter of President Donald Trump, acknowledged Boelter's previous appointment by Walz, writing in an X, formerly Twitter, post, "Tim Walz's goons are now assassinating law makers who support legislation Walz opposes."
 What, cons can't serve on large state boards? Moron.
It is unclear what legislation her post is in reference to, as Hortman and Hoffman had recently cast opposing votes in the recent HF1 bill, seeking to amend the state's MinnesotaCare coverage eligibility. Hortman voted for the Republican-backed bill, and Hoffman voted against it. The legislation is with the governor's office.

... Loomer, however, called for an investigation into Walz, citing his 2019 appointment of Boelter and Walz's scheduled appearance at a "No Kings" protest, flyers for which were found in the suspect's car, as grounds for suspicion. "How well did he know the shooter?" she asked.
They're pieces of paper with "No Kings" written on them, not "flyers". To what end is unclear, but Boelter's hit list also included Gov Walz, U.S. Rep. Ilhan Omar and pro-choice people and groups.
There is no indication that Walz had any knowledge of the shooter's plan. Other MAGA voices shared similar skepticism and criticism as Loomer, with some calling for the governor to resign.
MAGA just makes shit up, always.
What People Are Saying

Charlie Kirk, a conservative and founder and president of Turning Point USA, wrote in an X post about Walz: "Total shocker that smearing a duly-elected president who won an overwhelming electoral mandate as a fascist or a king leads to violent political radicalization."
That's big of Kirk to admit that his fellow cons can't handle a little name-calling and thus resort to violence. Btw, TACO Don called himself a "king". Opps.
Paul A. Szypula, a conservative who has more than 300,000 followers on X, said on Saturday: "Tim Walz has a lot of explaining to do," in a post sharing screenshots of Boelter's work history.

In another post, he called for Walz's resignation.
 :violin: Idiot.
... Conservative journalist Nick Sortor wrote in an X post: "Boelter was a TIM WALZ appointee to one of the governor's boards. WHAT A SHOCK – he's connected to TIM WALZ." ...
WHAT A SHOCK – Sortor is also a whiny cretin.

MAGA would be hilarious if they weren't in power. :angry-banghead:

Man Accused Of Killing Minnesota Lawmakers Once Preached About Abortion And Sexual Orientation
In unearthed videos, Vance Boelter preached on abortion, sexual orientation and prophets in America fixing the church.

Vance Boelter, the man accused of shooting and killing Minnesota State Rep. Melissa Hortman (D) and her husband, preached against abortion at one point, according to newly discovered video clips.

“Many churches in America, didn’t listen to Jesus,” Boelter said during a church service in Africa, according to the Daily Mail. “The devil comes through and rips everything apart. The churches are so messed up they don’t know abortion is wrong, in many churches.”

... After Boelter ran away on foot when confronted by police, police found a hit list inside his car with nearly 70 names of people, mostly pro-choice Democratic politicians and activists, according to CNN. Hortman was outspoken about abortion rights and Hoffman was pro-choice.

... In another video dated February 2023, Boelter is seen preaching about sin and how people in America “don’t know what sex they are.”

“They don’t know how their sexual orientation, they’re confused,” he said. “The enemy has gotten so far into their mind and their soul.” ...
Just another deadly and incompetent RW xtian.

Gov. Josh Stein Vetoed bills

House Bill 193 aimed to allow certain employees and volunteers to carry a concealed handgun on private school property with permission from the property owner. The bill also included provisions that aimed to increase the punishment for threats or assaults against elected officials.

Stein made the following statement on his decision to veto House Bill 193:

"This bill would make our children less safe. Just as we should not allow guns in the General Assembly, we should keep them out of our schools unless they are in the possession of law enforcement. Law enforcement officers receive more than 800 hours of public safety education, including firearms training. On top of that, School Resource Officers receive additional training to know how to respond to crises and how to de-escalate conflicts, a requirement I supported when I was Attorney General. We cannot substitute the protection offered by well-trained law enforcement officers by asking teachers and school volunteers to step in and respond to crises while armed. Just last year, an employee at a religious school in Goldsboro left a gun in a bathroom that was later found by an elementary school student. I support, however, the provision in this legislation to better protect local elected officials from threats to their safety, and I urge the General Assembly to send me a clean bill with those protections so I can sign it."

Ding-Dong Dead
It's a Texas twist on a classic tween game.
11-year-old fatally shot after ringing doorbell and running from Houston home, officials say

An 11-year-old boy was pronounced dead at a hospital Sunday after he was shot while running from a home he had rung the doorbell on, Houston city officials said.

The boy had been ringing doorbells Saturday night in the area and running as part of a game known as “doorbell ditch,” the city said in a statement.
Okay, maybe not just Texas. Call it an ammosexual twist.
... In spring, an 18-year-old man in Virginia was fatally shot as he and other teens participated in ding-dong ditch pranks being recorded for TikTok videos, the Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office said in May. The homeowner, who was arrested, said he believed a break-in was underway at his residence.

In California, a 45-year-old man who ran down a group of ding-dong ditch pranksters, killing three teenagers, was sentenced in 2023 to life in prison....

It's too sad of a story to make fun of, but how much of an idiot do you have to be to try to shoot a bird inside your house without really looking and to use a .50 calibre handgun to do it? Sorry GoCubsGo, but it's one of your Illinois idiots, not Florida as one might expect.

https://www.msn.com/en-ca/news/world/fa ... f9e&ei=203
An Illinois father allegedly killed his daughter while trying to shoot a bird that entered a building in a devastating chain of events.

On July 21, authorities responded to a report of a medical emergency and found Emma Schultheis, 14, with a gunshot wound, according to the Monroe County Sheriff's Department.

Emergency responders arrived on scene in minutes and performed life-saving care, but Emma later died at a St. Louis hospital.

Law enforcement launched an investigation into her death and found that she was allegedly shot by her father, David A. Schultheis, 34.

Schultheis allegedly discharged a handgun inside while attempting to shoot a bird. Cops said he put his arm in the room and kept his head outside the doorway to avoid a potential ricochet.

When he allegedly pulled the trigger, the bullet hit the bird, but passed through the animal, exiting the building and allegedly striking his daughter.

Emma was outside the building at the time. She was in a town called Waterloo when she was shot, but lived in the small village of Prairie Du Rocher.
