Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Yet another country falls to authoritarianism?

CAUGHT ON CAMERA: Chinese Military Ships Crash Into Each Other in Explosive South China Sea Incident

A Chinese Coast Guard vessel collided with a People's Liberation Army Navy destroyer while pursuing a Philippine Coast Guard patrol boat near the disputed Scarborough Shoal in the South China Sea, causing substantial damage that rendered the coast guard ship unseaworthy, according to footage released Monday. The incident occurred as Chinese forces attempted to intercept the Philippine vessel in waters that Beijing claims as its territory but Manila contests under international maritime law, highlighting the risks of escalation in the strategically vital waterway where both nations regularly conduct patrols.
OPPS! Haha, excellent driving by the Philippine Coast Guard captain to set the Chinese up. The full incident is after 1:40 in the video, including a brief shot of the CCG's mangled bow.
Article
... (Philippine Coast Guard spokesperson Jay) Tarriela said the Philippine Coast Guard immediately offered to help the Chinese with man-overboard recovery and medical aid for any injured crew....
Sincere, serious and 100% proper, but also hilarious.

Another article with a lot more background

COVERT OPS Danish spies uncover ‘secret US plot to stir up anti-government fury in Greenland’ amid Trump’s desire to SEIZE island
One American allegedly aimed to create a list of Greenland separatists

... Sources close to the matter said at least three US citizens with ties to the Trump administration were involved in the alleged mission, according to state broadcaster DR.

... DR's report detailed how one American in Greenland's capital was creating a list of natives who backed American attempts to take over the island.

The aim of the mission would be to try to recruit those who signed up for a secession movement.

Two other Americans tried to nurture contacts with politicians, businessmen and locals, according to the report....

Trump has never ruled out using force to take the island

London protests Trump’s second state visit

Thousands of demonstrators marched through central London on Sept. 17 in protest of U.S. President Donald Trump’s three-day state visit, casting their rally as a stand against maintaining the “special relationship” with the United States as it aspires toward authoritarian rule.

Organized by Stop Trump UK—a coalition of more than 50 civic groups that includes anti-racism campaigners, climate activists, and advocates for Palestinian rights—the march set off from Portland Place and moved toward Parliament Square, the BBC reported....

I guess hair colouring is unusual in your neighborhood? It's not in mine. My dental hygienist has blue hair, and a neighbor - budget director for a large non-profit - has green. I'd assume you also know that much if not most of the time colours such as that aren't really permanent - it's just a fashion of the day.

Inferring what you may or may not have implied, it seems you took a bit of a derogatory swipe at her, as if you expect her to be a bit sleazy herself.
Wonder what orange hair implies to you?

Just a simple question. Why the sensitivity?

I dunno, I guess I've just learned to be sensitive to underlying messages in statements that may seem innocuous in the surface. Concerning an article and pics of big protests in London about Trump's unwanted visit, you pick the colour of one protesters hair to comment on. You could have said "the chick with green hair is hot" or you could have said " l thing k green hair is ugly/stupid/out of style whatever. But by including her vocation, you're showing a bias against her personally and suggesting strongly that she's a sketchy person. Now while you're thinking about it, can you find a time or instance when the US president was shown so much hostility by one of our closest allies? Do you think Trump might have done a little to create that hostility?

Just curious about how she supports herself. The leaders of the UK seem to be just fine with Trump. Unhinged TDS protesters are to be expected as we have seen. How one judges these are free to do so.

My niece had purple hair for awhile - Duke undergrad in 4 years, now post-grad in Economics at Berkeley. Even in Hooterville I see dyed hair (other than old lady blue) often enough that I can't think of specific examples like O Really does.

I don't think it's been proven that the " UK leaders seem ok with Trump" Just because they've got enough class and sophistication to behave properly toward an international figure regardless of personal opinion doesn't show approval.

I heard it analyzed on TV. They still disagree with him on almost all policy matters, but are superficially sucking up to him in hopes of avoiding US wrath on things like tariffs, NATO support, intel sharing, etc. Superficial sucking up has proven to be especially effective with Dementia Don.
