So from my understanding the latest CR bill just passed by the Senate contains a policy rider pertaining to hemp derived THC, effectively ending the 2018 farm bill loophole.
For many years now, you've been able to by hemp derived THC products. Seltzers, edibles, THCA bud.
This bill effectively kills that entire industry. States like NC and SC will be affected.
Seems rather silly when that stuff's been on the market for a while now. Just legalize it already.

I was reading a story about this earlier on yahoo. According to that story, this was pushed by the marijuana industry itself.Whack9 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 11, 2025 1:32 pmSo from my understanding the latest CR bill just passed by the Senate contains a policy rider pertaining to hemp derived THC, effectively ending the 2018 farm bill loophole.

Unlike RW myth it is very common for industry to request regulation. Sometimes it's greed, sometimes it's in the public interest, often both.neoplacebo wrote: ↑Wed Nov 12, 2025 9:39 amI was reading a story about this earlier on yahoo. Yeah, that's what the story mentioned.....that the pot people didn't like it that the hemp people did not have to adhere to the same rules and regulations and taxes the pot people have to do. Apparently, the hemp people can juice up their hemp with THC to make the hemp more potent than the shit that killed Elvis.Vrede too wrote: ↑Thu Nov 13, 2025 12:59 amUnlike RW myth it is very common for industry to request regulation. "It's frankly one of the biggest scandals in American history that the Trump administration is _________." -- A template for 5 years (so far) of DonOLD rule. It's almost boring at this point, almost.

Some good intentions, but sounds like the legislation is extreme. It was pushed by some pot people, but also by anti-pot groups, sus. 1 year to take effect so there may be some fixes.

Ok, thanks. So let us ponder how anything trump does, or advocates, is extreme. Extreme ignorance, extreme pettiness, extreme ballroom, extreme incompetence.Vrede too wrote: ↑Fri Nov 14, 2025 3:20 pmHemp industry plans next move after Trump signs THC banneoplacebo wrote: ↑Thu Nov 13, 2025 7:12 amYeah, that's what the story mentioned.....that the pot people didn't like it that the hemp people did not have to adhere to the same rules and regulations and taxes the pot people have to do.
