Maybe not all the time, but last years' clutch of Big Bear Eagles ended sadly for the youngest chick. And I saw a documentary that showed how in the scramble for food when the parent brings it in, the smallest sometimes doesn't get a full share, gets weaker, etc. I don't think it's typical or common, but it does happen.

That's what I thought. Not sure how it works when there are 6 hatchlings. Dad (?) has been bringing mice/rats (?) for Mom. He (?) doesn't stay inside the nestbox anymore.
One parent stays on the nest 24/7 except for brief departures - hunt, toileting, water?
Did you ever wonder what you'd have done during the rise of fascism? You're doing it right now.

Wow, there's a dead critter in the box with them right now. Can't tell what mom/dad is doing.

I think she (?) is ripping apart a second dead critter and maybe feeding it to the babies. She (?) sure is noisy about it.

Maybe, I thought she was just grooming herself.

I think #3 has hatched! There's new eggshell at the mid-bottom of the screen.
There are now 4 or 5 carcasses stashed. Dad's a good provider . He lands right on top of her every time that I've seen. Do birds have sex for fun? I don't think so, but .

There's a fly that's annoying me. It's like it's in my room, not her nest box.
Need us to send you an emergency fly swatter?
A virtual flyswatter would have been more useful. It was annoying Mom, too. Idk whether it escaped the box or she killed it. It would have made a nice snack for one of the babies.
Now if the owlets would just stfu . . .
