The justice department has agreed to pay Michael Flynn an unspecified amount of money for "wrongful prosecution" over his lying to the FBI about his contacts with Russians during trump's first campaign. I can hardly believe this shit. The asshole pled guilty originally to what he was charged with. But the justice department says Flynn was a victim of a weaponized justice system and that this action is meant to make sure that weaponization never happens again. I could not decide whether to put this here or in the fascism is here thread. But here it is.

I think the whole thing sucks. I also think it's unacceptable for the government to agree to pay an unknown amount of money to anybody. What the hell are they hiding? Did Flynn get twice what he asked for? He sued for fifty million. Did they give him a hundredmillion? More than that? Did the deal include Flynn making a big payment to trump as thanks? The whole goddamn thing makes me want to break something or seize a cat by its throat and vigorously shake it.

Is there a "hook" once she's been fired, or does it take a subpoena for that?

Was Blondage, personally, subpoenaed or was it the sitting AG? Will it take issuing a new subpoena for her as a private citizen?

If the only solution is waiting until January for contempt charges, I'll bet nothing happens. She'll have been out of office too long, there will have been other Epstein files developments, and the new Dem majorities will have more important things to do.
