Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

The Gambling Cheats Post

Today:
U.S. soldier involved in Maduro raid charged with betting on the operation
The special forces soldier allegedly made more than $400,000 on Polymarket as a result of the bets, prosecutors say.

... The soldier was identified as Gannon Ken Van Dyke in a news release announcing the indictment.

... Van Dyke was charged with “unlawful use of confidential government information for personal gain, theft of nonpublic government information, commodities fraud, wire fraud, and making an unlawful monetary transaction.”

“The charges arise from an alleged scheme in which Van Dyke used sensitive classified information to make wagers on Polymarket,” the statement from the U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York said.

In a statement, prediction site Polymarket said, "When we identified a user trading on classified government information, we referred the matter to the DOJ & cooperated with their investigation."
Treason, too? :obscene-birdiered:
... Asked about the arrest during an unrelated event in the Oval Office, which ABC News first reported earlier, President Donald Trump told reporters that he does not like the concept of betting....
:wtf: He owned casinos.

Today:
French police probe suspected weather device tampering after odd Polymarket bet

A hair dryer? A lighter? A lucky coincidence?

Authorities in France are investigating possible tampering with a weather monitoring device at Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris after an unusual temperature spike was recorded around the same time a Polymarket trader cashed in....
Thank goodness they're not actually manipulating the weather.

April 10, 2026:
Well-timed bets on Polymarket tied to the Iran war draw calls for investigations from lawmakers

... On Wednesday, The Associated Press reported that at least 50 brand new accounts on Polymarket placed substantial bets on a U.S.-Iran ceasefire in the hours, even minutes, before President Donald Trump announced the ceasefire late Tuesday on social media. These were the sole bets made on Polymarket through these accounts....
 We should be betting on DonOLD ceasefires to fail and/or TACOs.

February 12, 2026:
Israel accuses two of using military secrets to place Polymarket bets

... Prosecutors say a civilian and a military reservist have been indicted for bribery and obstruction of justice, with an undisclosed number of others also arrested for placing Polymarket wagers based on classified information, according to a statement released Thursday by officials in Tel Aviv....

Comey is indicted, again. The 86 47 "threat" was made especially silly by having been written in cute seashells. Lawrence O'Donnell calls it "the most childish indictment he's ever heard of." Filed in NC since that's where the beach was. Sorry  . To me 86 has always been used in reference to removal from a bar, with or without violence. I guess I threaten Moron Don with every post. Opps. Hey cons, report me to the FBI, please.

Wendy Clemente, Spokane, Washington DUI driver arrested trying to run over child dirt bike rider and later attempting to enter a stranger’s nearby residence only to tell police she was looking for dogs to socialize with her own pet.

... The reckless DUI driver was booked on first-degree assault (attempted), DUI and first-degree criminal trespass charges according to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office....

Alex Murdaugh's murder convictions overturned in South Carolina Supreme Court ruling

Prosecutors said they plan to retry disgraced lawyer Alex Murdaugh on murder charges in the shooting deaths of his wife and younger son after the state Supreme Court on Wednesday overturned his conviction and life sentence.

... In a unanimous ruling Wednesday, the South Carolina Supreme Court said the conduct by the court clerk "egregiously attacked Murdaugh's credibility" by suggesting to jurors his testimony could not be trusted. They also said the trial judge went too far in allowing evidence of Murdaugh's financial crimes into his murder trial....
Everyone deserves a fair trial, but this soap opera rerun will be bad for the country and terrible for you and me.

Please advise how this retrial will be bad for you, me and the country. The clerk of the court screwed up. There are a lot of emotions about the Murdaugh's in Hampton and Colleton counties.
