Re: Wingnutties out of control!
This law was obviously intended for use to stop crack whores from foisting their deformed and retarded offspring on a sympathetic community. I like the idea of the law. We really DO need a tool to prevent low blooded drug sluts from dropping their diseased and damaged infants at our collective door.
But the use to which the law has been put, in this case, demonstrates that the prosecutor is the retarded one. The elements of the crime, as the law is written, are CLEARLY lacking.

Vrede, I give you my word that I am unacquainted with the poster(s) of whom I remind you. I am an FDR Democrat/European style socialist. I despise LBJ and consider his great society to have been motivated by racism - an attempt to permanently ghettoize and apartheidize minorities. I also believe that without LBJ, Reagan could never have handed America over to the banksters.

Oh, wait. I get it. Disagreeing with you = racism. Never mind.

Re: Wingnutties out of control!
Let's start with ME deliberately mischaracterizing the race of Zimmerman.
You are a coy one, are you not? Why did you not equally object to me referring to Trayvon in turns as, "small child," "toddler," fetus," and "zygote?"
We both know why. It gave you no opportunity to point the bony and fraudulent finger of racism at me. But it had THIS in common with my false references to Zimmerman's race: both were parodies of the lies that the press created for their false narrative of racism against a little boy.
Your strained effort to make me out a racist is quite in keeping with the entire meme that this case represents. It is a FOREGONE CONCLUSION that to defend Zimmerman is to court - nay, BE THE TARGET OF - accusations of racism. I have seen hundreds of pages on this topic, and never have I NOT seen the race card played by the Trayvon cheerleaders. If you had an honest bone in your body, you would readily acknowledge that the press played up a black/white narrative which simply did not meet the facts on the ground. If Zimmerman went to Hollywood, he would have a FAR, FAR, FAR better chance of landing a role as a cholo than as one of Hitler's SS officers, son. He's white like my gardener.
The rest I shall address separately, as I have no access to the quote feature.

Re: Wingnutties out of control!
Let's go next to your claim that I LIED when I said he did not know the toddler's race when first asked it by 911 dispatch. Sorry son, but I have heard the tapes. He did not know. He waited until he got a better look before he said, "I THINK he is black."
Now, let's finish up with your accusation that I make "hateful, vulgar, homophobic posts." I disagree with the hateful part. I readily admit that I am often vulgar. As to the homophonic nature of my posts, I think it is extremely important to continually mock the thin veneer of heterosexuality that homophobic republicans throw out in front of their hateful AGENDA. That is what I do. I have reams of pages under the screen name Cannonpointer, going back years, defending the right of gays to be who they are. Which makes me wonder just what kind of low blooded pole smoker would call me a homophobe, sir. That is some faggity shit right there.
No offense. Smiley face emoticon.

Re: Wingnutties out of control!
I have one more point to make on the race issue - or rather, make again, that it not be lost. So far, you have failed to answer it, other than to complain that I made it.
You equated pissing off a black teen with smart mouthing a group of bikers. That is telling. You appear to consider black teens to be dangerous thugs - as dangerous as an entire gang of bikers.
I was a teenager, sir. And I was often the target of adult suspicions - sometimes rightly so, sometimes wrongly so. I was questioned more than once by older adult males whose only authority to question me was my respect for their social status. They were adults. I was a kid, and kids - especially young males - are, more often than any other demographic, mischief makers. It never once occurred to me to pound on any of these adults - even though it would have been as easy as cutting butter in many cases. I was young an strong; they were older and no match for me physically.
The society that your permissive attitude would give us, I reject. The very idea that some punk kid has the right to jump and pummel an adult for having the audacity to have his suspicions piqued by that kids behavior - the very notion is atrocious. So is the idea that it's only okay if the kid is not black. It's just awful.
My God, man. You are an ADULT. You should be GLAD that there are people who are public spirited enough to care about some kid scoping your home, in an area rife with burglaries. And let us not step over the fact that it later came out that Trayvon was in possession of burgled items, sir. The school officials that covered up that crime should answer for his death more so than Zimmerman.

Re: Wingnutties out of control!
Thank you. I think that the issue needs to be re-thought by all concerned. It is currently discussed exclusively in cartoons, with each side picturing the civil war.
The civil war, while ABOUT secession, began with the rebels firing on fort sumter. It is NOT a foregone conclusion that all future attempts at secession will be initiated outside the court room. Nor is it out of the realm of possibility that the THREAT of secession might become a political tool at some point in the near future.
I truly believe that the issue will eventually see the front burner of American history. I am willing to go into why I believe that, but for now, I will just say that I see it on the horizon. So the issue is, IMHO, timely.
There is something important that happened between Sherman's March to the Sea and yesterday's coffee - something that you and I lived through and were rapt witnesses to. And that was the peaceful dissolution of the Soviet union. There are many other salient historical happenings which will likewise comment on the issue, not least of which is the formation of the U.N. and the World Court and the WTO. Then there is the fact that "war" as we know it is no longer war as we knew it (in the 1860s). I believe that a "war between the states" is utterly unthinkable at this point in the world's history. It simply WILL NOT HAPPEN, for a multitude of reasons (some listed in this paragraph).
So we have this enormous issue which is only being discussed in cartoon terms, and I find that very unappealing - very unworthy of a rather juicy topic.

Re: Wingnutties out of control!
To Vrede:
Oh, so you ARE pretending that Zimmie is a white guy? LMAO. "Oh, Hispanic is ethnicity, not race."
Why do Mexicans call themselves La Raza, son? Are you calling an entire race - I mean ethnicity - I mean race - liars?
You need to google ethnicity vs. race. I did. here's a piece of what I got:
"The traditional definition of race and ethnicity is related to biological and sociological factors respectively. Race refers to a person's physical appearance, such as skin color, eye color, hair color, bone/jaw structure etc. Ethnicity, on the other hand, relates to cultural factors such as nationality, culture, ancestry, language and beliefs."
Now, Zimmie ain't gonna throw blond haired blue eyed babies, son. He's a brown man. His mama is Incan - an Indian from Peru, with POSSIBLY SOME European blood and DEFNITELY some African blood from her African slave grandfather. Zimmerman is not white, not Aryan, not Caucasian. He's Hispanic.
And if a REAL white guy had done the killing, and Zimmerman was the dead guy, you would be making THAT about race - how a brown man just can't get a break.
Fraudster.

Re: Wingnutties out of control!
LOFL. Thank you.
I realize I am politically incorrect, but I promise you that I know grammar and spelling, which I will argue clears me of any charge of closet teabaggery.
That said, I am interested to know what you think small government conservatives SHOULD do to regain a voice in their party? Or should they abandon it?
This is not to suggest that the teabaggers uniformly fit the description of small government conservatives. I think a great many who answer to the teabagger label want a government big enough to run torture chambers. But they ARE what exists of an insurgency in a party that is sitting pretty for an insurgency.
Speaking of which, at what point - how many drone bombs and military adventures and sellouts to the insurance industry in - do we on the left abandon the democratic party, or stage an insurgency? Follow up - what form should that insurgency take, if insurgency there be, on the left?

in·ter·ro·gate
[in-ter-uh-geyt] Show IPA verb, in·ter·ro·gat·ed, in·ter·ro·gat·ing.
verb (used with object)
1.
to ask questions of (a person), sometimes to seek answers or information that the person questioned considers personal or secret.
2.
to examine by questions; question formally: The police captain interrogated the suspect.
verb (used without object)
3.
to ask questions, especially formally or officially: the right to interrogate.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Origin:
1475–85; < Latin interrogātus past participle of interrogāre to question, examine, equivalent to inter- inter- + rogā ( re ) to ask + -tus past participle suffix
Jesus. It's like debating a fox-fed fool. I have to educate you on word meanings just to correct you on your factoids.
Circling around a fellow who is following you, in order to surprise him, is rightly called an ambush. So is staging a surprise party, or setting someone up with a seemingly innocent question that leads to a trap.
Seriously, dude: Own you own racism so you don't have to project it onto others, and, for fucks sake, get a goddamned dictionary.
