Careful, Mr.B - there are factors other than race that constitute illegal discrimination. Like religion, for example.Mr.B wrote:When did homosexuals become a separate race?

Maybe this question should be in "religion" but I've got a serious (at least in the context of of a forum) question: Why is a "sincerely held belief" that is called "religious" given more weight than a "sincerely held belief" that is not religious - like that the world is flat, or that rednecks shouldn't be allowed to breed?

No, it's not. And it's not a disability. And it's not a national origin or a creed or color. But my point is that anything can be defined as a "protected group" from discrimination. Some, like age, disability, race, and homosexuality, are not under the person's control. Some, like religion, might be voluntary life choices. So even for those who ignorantly think homosexuality is a voluntary life choice, there is still precedent for protecting their rights as citizens. Just like religion.Mr.B wrote:Homosexuality is a religion, then?O Really wrote:Careful, Mr.B - there are factors other than race that constitute illegal discrimination. Re: The homophobic thread :>
Hard choice. If I were making the decision on making homosexuality illegal in exchange for making redneckery illegal, I just might go for it. Unfortunately, there are way more rednecks than homosexuals, so getting rid of the rednecks would be better for the society as a whole. Homosexuals could continue to stay in the closet, but for some reason rednecks seem to be compelled flaunt their redneckiness and stuff it down the throats of us civilized and well-mannered people. I probably wouldn't know if my accountant was gay or not, but I'm pretty sure I could tell if s/he were a redneck.Mr.B wrote:Or that homosexuality should (still) be illegal?O Really wrote:Maybe this question should be in "religion" but I've got a serious (at least in the context of of a forum) question: Why is a "sincerely held belief" that is called "religious" given more weight than a "sincerely held belief" that is not religious - like that the world is flat, or that rednecks shouldn't be allowed to breed?

I dunno if rednecks outnumber "gays" or not.....but, I don't think that "redneckiness" is considered a wicked perversion or abomination.

Depends on who you ask. I think it is, and should be punishable by eternal fire in Hell.Mr.B wrote:![]()

And these......fair-minded, open-minded, broad-minded, tolerant, unbiased, impartial.
A slang term, usually for a rural white southerner who is politically conservative, racist, and a religious fundamentalist ( see fundamentalism ). This term is generally considered offensive. It originated in reference to agricultural workers, alluding to how the back of a person's neck will be burned by the sun if he works long hours in the fields.

Or are you only wishing that on those who frown on the wickedness of sexual perversion?

Of course there's a Hell (upper or lower case) including the one in Michigan, and the hypothetical ones created as a place of misery. I'd send the rednecks to either of those, whether they're gay, straight, or bi.

Re: The homophobic thread :>
Let's look at this. We live in a world where armed terror groups wantonly kill anyone who opposes them or their so-called god. Not only in the Middle East but in Africa, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. There's young people from every nation and all walks of life scrambling to join in these groups to join in on the killing. Thousands of innocent lives are being lost not only to these brain-dead idiots, but to environmental issues that threaten the very existence of life on this planet. Toxic waste dumping, over fishing the oceans, air pollution, fouling the waterways and streams of the world with garbage and human shit. And what are we in the United States doing? Pissing and squabbling about some nasty ass faggot wanting to marry another filthy ass faggot or twat twinkie. We're pissing and squabbling because people who claim to be religious and believing that ass fugging is the lowest form of human deviation, are being castigated as bigots and haters of other humans. Demonstrations in the streets and so on. Yep, we in the US have really got our priorities in order. Verde or Vrede (whichever) says I'm obsessed. I've taken time to think about that. I am obsessed, obsessed with the eradications of queers. This world has enough pollution and garbage dumping without their adding themselves to the mix.

Latent.

What Homerfobe said:
"Yep, we in the US have really got our priorities in order"
"I just did something really purposeful, and I'm really, really, proud of myself"
Losing a 200 grand job would make me purposeful and proud too...dummy.

Loose cannon. Anger issues. Deserved to be fired. I'll bet those who worked with/for him were glad to see him go. I'll bet he was even a jerk at work.Mr.B wrote:What Homerfobe said:

Sorry guys, I spent too much time working with jerk customers, probably gave me a minor case of PTSD.

(Note: I don't know how this happened to get posted with the CFA link, but this was to be in response to Vrede's post.)
What Homerfobe said: "Yep, we in the US have really got our priorities in order"
He also said: "...people who claim to be religious and believing that (homosexuality) is the lowest form of human deviation, are being castigated as bigots and haters of other humans."
I don't "claim to be religious", I believe what the "cherry-picked" parts of the Bible say about mankind's disgusting sexual trysts, and yes, we are "castigated as bigots and haters of other humans"...however the supposed "hatred" that we are accused of is no different than the attitudes of those who curse God and our beliefs in Him. Man's changing of man's laws and constitutions doesn't alter what the Word of God has to say.
In essence, what homerfobe said is correct; the US should be more concerned about what our real priorities should be.

They may not mouth off as much, but they're still supporting organizations that are involved with the killing of homosexuals.Vrede wrote:. . . and stupid enough to post a video of himself proving all of that while berating a female minimum wage worker who may not even be aware of or support Chick-Fil-A's corporate policies which, btw, softened considerably since Boss Cathy stuck his foot in his mouth.O Really wrote:Loose cannon.
