Domain Name/Name of Forum suggestions

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Obviously it hasn't slowed down, not that it'll grow much more either.

I'd like suggestions on the name of the forum, specifically domain names so that it makes us easier to find.... at least if we can come up with something worth it.

My quick ideas: ncforum.com; northcarolinaforum.com; (blueridgeforum.com is taken, but perhaps blueridgeforum.org or etc might be available.)

thecrazycons.com    Just kidding!
Well what are your thoughts so far?

What are your goals for this forum?

How much time do you have to devote to it?

Is there a way you can make it profitable for yourself? What would that take?

For a small fee I could be posting from the US.

There are just 1.2 million people in Manitoba. Offer each of them $100,000 in return for Manitoba joining the union. The resulting referendum would pass without any problems. A family of five with $500,000 can afford US health care.

$120 Billion sounds like a lot, but compared to the $trillions spent in Iraq and Afghanistan - which will result in no new territory for the US - it's a deal. Manitoba would provide a new area the size of Texas with farming in the south, oil in the south-west, large mines and lots of forestry in the north, and hydro-electricity that already powers part of the US grid. There's a whole lot of fresh water.

The US would get a major northern port in Churchill - the closest port to the European markets for just about all of the US - just as global warming opens it up year-round. It would have a better claim to the right to use the North-West Passage. Missile defenses could be placed further north - say, at the rocketry range near Churchill.

And since Manitoba would be part of the US, that $120 Billion would be dumped right back into the US economy. There'd even be an even distribution - as a million Manitobans with $100,000 each and American citizenship move to warmer climates. Just the thing the housing crisis needs.

1. I like blueridgedebate short and to the point, and I thought of offering free email and that sounds professional as an address; blah@blueridgedebate---
2. I don't have any. It's just a forum, not a business. I'm not under any delusions other than just keep it running and trying to give you guys what you ask for.
3. Enough to keep it running.
4. No way to make it profitable for two reasons, definitely not enough people, and not willing to put huge annoying ads everywhere. The most I've even thought of is small google text ads to help pay for the domain name and hosting, but even that wouldn't come close to paying the cost. That's ok, it's not that expensive, I don't mind springing for the cash.

Alright, purchased BlueRidgeDebate.com, it'll take some time for the DNS to update, etc, so you probably can't start using it yet.

(No changes are required on yalls end....)

I think that one is pretty good.... really...

I always wanted an email address like bannination@master-debaters.com
Since the sandlappers have pretty well taken over the forum with their petty, babyish squabblings and name callings, why not call it The Sandlapper MasterBaiters Crying Towel?

They gonna erase everything and start over? They probably took one look at this forum's postings and said "good god-amighty; where in hell did those freaks come from?"

I suppose I'll have to update my Style changes to reflect both site references though, eh? Image

Oh, I'm far from done ... gotta lot of work left.
I'll post it up for other Firefox users when I'm done.

Still a lot of heavy lifting ahead ... Image

BTW, I can make customized headers (other than my cats) and other things so one can "own" this great site you started, Banni. Image

Looks as though ole Blue Eyes is working towards a forced takeover of Bannination's "great site".

Time to do some heavy lifting of your own, Banni or you may find out what he meant by "heavy lifting". :-H  :-H

I doubt Banni shares your paranoia and can understand what mike is referencing.

Altering ones user interface does not at all affect a forum's true "ownership".

FYI:

I'll probably be taking the board down for maintenance during the overnight hours, say somewhere between 1am and 5am. Should only take about 15 minutes, and when we come back we should be BlueRidgeDebate.com. If everything goes as planned - hville.hostzi.com should be redirected to the new domain.

Indeed, perspectv ... as a starter, it's far from done ... for those using Firefox on a 1440x900 display, here is what I've done so far ...

http://userstyles.org/styles/77366/a-nc ... 1351398670

I'll have to work on the header for those who want something different.

Image

Time to work on a bit more transparency for the underlying image (which can be changed to anyone's heart's desire) so the image underneath is a bit more evident without overriding the content of Banni's great site.

Indeed, this will always be Banni's site but, through some customization, we can make it our own and make it more enjoyable ... kinda like putting an Obama bumper sticker on your car. Image

EDIT: Try it out but, as I mentioned, it's a work in progress. As I visit different areas of the forum, I'm constantly updating. Still, if you know what you're doing, you can always turn it (the Style) off. If you are using it, let me know what you think and where I might have missed a section of the forum ... I think I'm done for tonight ... Notre Dame won, BTW! Image
